Good riddance, Studiomux!
After some years of frustration and incredibly mixed results I finally gave up on Studiomux and have deleted it from all my devices.
It happened after a particularly frustrating session where the server again and again (and again) span beachballs and brought my mac to its knees and stopping progress on an important session. My wife came who was in the studio cutely asked me if I was having a war with the computer. My reply: "No honey, I'm having a war with freaking Studiomux..again."
I even went over to Windows 10 last week and installed it on there to see if it would work properly...but alas, no sample rate control and total freaking chaos!!!
Part of me wants to send a great big "f*ck you" to the developers who just haven't maintained/loved it but who knows what they're going through -- must remember to enact compassion. But regardless of any of that I have no more time for stuff that doesn't work reliably.
I paid $10 for this app all those years ago (as I recall) and have certainly made use of it though I suspect that the app has reduced my lifespan through the daily b.s. and stress it has created for me.
Well, if zerodebug had actually given a sh*t and released an app that is reliable, compatible with modern OSes, properly documented and actually maintained I'd have jump at it even at 5 times the price.
Anyway, as per the thread title -- good riddance, Studiomux!

It’s really a shame that Apple hasn’t made IDAM bi-directional for audio.
I have been getting good, better results from it recently.. Actually. It works better, much better that that Iconnect+2 thing.. I’m a get rid of that thing..
Really, it is...
-Which OS?
-If macOS -- is it integrated with an aggregate device?
-Plugin or multichannel device?
-What do you mean by better? More reliable?
iConnectivity (for all its lack of support BS) still has given us a fairly reliable device... IMO. I have an iCA4+ here and it works as expected after much wrestling with it.
iConnectivity is vastly superior to StudioMUX, it is laughable to even compare the two.
Same here with an iCA4+, reliable for years with IOS, OSX and Win-7.
The IOS control panel sometimes doesn‘t find the interface, while that continues to perform flawless. It self cures by obscure conditions after a couple of attempts...
I‘m not a fan of the company and it‘s product/service philosophy at all - but continue to suggest the iCA4+ for it‘s (still) unique capabilities.
It seems like with this app and with the iconnect interfaces that user experiences are all over the place. Ive had consistently terrible luck with studiomux. It’s probably been 2 years since I last deleted it. Have had a completely problem free experience with an iconnectaudio 4 that I bought used off eBay.
Win 10.
I only use it to send midi to the PC (Maschine).. Seems to b getting a better connection that before. Iconnect+2 has latency issues.
It's (Studiomux) fine for midi in my experience. It's audio that gives trouble.
There must be a reason for it. What is that?
I don't know. I'll ask Tim Cook next time I play golf with him.
It's probably either simply limited thinking on Apple's part. They tend to assume they know what people need and that people must be dumb if they don't agree.
Or, maybe they're concerned about people creating audio feedback loops.
Or, maybe they just haven't figured out how to make it dependent on a $50 dongle for the iPad.
Works fine for me if I can be bothered. It's just faster and easier to process the file on my iOS device then it is to use Studiomux lol.
No "or"
I feel the exact same about Touchable, I have never been able to get a stable connection even on different IPAD and systems.
I use studiomux for midi only and it has always worked for my needs.
I mostly use the MIDI part, but it works well. Sorry to hear that it doesn’t work well everywhere.
Sampling rates between devices can cause problems in general.
