Audio unit won’t work with m-audio oxygen
Hi guys totally new to this iOS music making but I have a Tal-U-No Lx synth as an audio unit in Audiobus and it plays fine with the virtual keyboard but I can’t get it to work with my M-audio oxygen 49, what am I doing wrong .?? Thanks in advance
Also why is Tal U No not listed in Audiobus’s list of compatible apps but shows as a Au in my AB app ?

Hi. Have you created a MIDI lane in AudioBus, linking your keyboard to the app? Be sure to select Instance A of the app, to connect to the same instance as in the Audio lane.
I don't know about the AudioBus app list, but AudioBus finds the AUs on your device just by asking the system. No pre-recognition is required.
No idea but all I know is that when I pick a synth “App” eg SynthMaster Player my Oxygen works fine but when I pick SynthMaster Player as an Audio Unit I get nothing from my Oxygen, confused to put it mildly
Thanks for the reply though
Btw, run TAL UNO as an audio unit not as an app. The apps and AUs are listed on separate tabs in Audiobus. Generally, if you have an option to run as AU or App, use the AU unless you have reason why the IAA app is a better choice (it happens but rarely)
So, in AudioBus, you need to tap on the MIDI box at the bottom. Then tap the left +, select System, and choose your Oxygen keyboard (already connected to your device, of course). Then tap the last + at the right, select Audio Units, and pick the one you're using, and select Instance A. If you have not done this, the Audio Unit will not receive MIDI. It's inside of AudioBus and all its inputs and outputs are through AudioBus. That's how Audio Units work.
It's different when you play an app, because it connects direct to the Core MIDI provided by iOS.
Thanks so very much lads, everything is working 100% now, I’m forever grateful- rock on 🤘
