Considering that this developer also has made ‘plug-ins’ for Gadget I suspect the other two will at some point become Gadgets
And this playback app having support for AUv3 processing could hint that Gadget gets AUv3 support at some point, but this is just me guessing as I know nothing...
Looks interesting. @White cheers as always. @White @Samu Have you tried it ? I’am hoping there’s no Ads or subscriptions
Works fine here, I haven't seen any ads and subscriptions 😊
@White ok thanks
It doesn’t play Apple Music files unfortunately.
It plays/imports them if they are downloaded to the device first, It doesn't stream from the cloud.
Tested that while walking back after doing some groceries...
Does it show as a AU in AUM couldn’t see it listed ?
No, it's an Auv3 host.
Oh ok that’s what caught me out !
Tried it on downloaded files. This is what happens:

Maybe it works for purchased tracks (pre Apple Music)
Definitely works for purchased tracks, but not the older DRM protected ones...
This app could also be seen as a 'solution' to AudioShare current lack of AUv3 support
Meaning one can take any audio file and process it thru AUv3 plug-ins and create a new *.wav file...
cool find
the Apple AU exposed i see
I thought this might be a quick way to load an audio file from documents and process it with some AUv3 effects. But for some reason it’s not seeing my Fabfilter plugins?
This kind of simple requirement is still complicated on iOS.
AUM - could use a file player but then you can’t scrub through the audio to preview it.
TwistedWave editor is kind of buggy.
Auditor can’t process with AUv3.
DAWS are always a pain to import the audio first into their own library’s.
Actually you can.
Just slide horizontally across AUM’s transport controls.
Thanks! didn’t know about that.
@Mark B I notice that, of my eclectic collection of AU FX, four are missing in this app: THU, FD-1, Spectrum:Granular, and WaveScope. Now, the first three of these have MIDI control interfaces, and I wonder if that's what rules them out here. I don't know about Fabfilter, though. Conclusion: the app appears to skip some AU FX recognized by other AU hosts, like AB3. Hard to say why. But this definitely has some interesting possibilities.
its like Wavelab. but without editing possibilities... dam, if Auditor could do this
That’s quite the find @White Thanks.
Just use it as an accessory to Auditor. Best of both worlds without begging for updates. 😉
tru that
Cool, didn’t know you could do that in AUM, thanks
Version: 1.0.1 is out:
Fixed a bug where third party AudioUnit could not be selected from the list.
Version: 2.0 is out:
With this upgrade, you can now support not only audio files but also video files.
You can adjust the volume of the audio of your camera shot video, apply AUv3 plugin effects, and save it as a new video file.
It's perfect for adjusting videos to be uploaded to social networking sites!
Along with this major upgrade, the app name was changed from "AUAudioPlayer" to "AUMediaPlayer".
