  • ok....

kind of want to get it just because its so funky looking.

  • Looks and behaves like the same ‘Maximiser’ that is available as Gadget IAP. It’s from the same developer too :)

  • It seems good, no?

The desktop versions have (Gadget’s) DeeMax and also a ‘DeeMMax’ And this DeePopMax plugin.

I believe these all have specific character / intentions per plug/app.

  • I have it in Gadget and it sounds good but ai don’t know if I want to spend another time money on it😜

Clarifying: ‘DeeMax’ within Gadget is a different plug. Until trying them side by side I’m not sure how different they are but they are separate releases from Dotec. ✌🏼

  • anyone has tried it?

  • Two years ago I contacted Dotec about the ugly digital distortion in Gadget’s DeeMax in Turbo mode. There’s always some low-bit distortion going on, particularly noticeable on lower levels.
They replied it would be improved in a future update, but it never was...

    In ‘normal’ mode It’s fine.

  • Has anybody tried running a sine sweep through it to produce a visual spectrogram?

  • I’m so tempted... let me sleep on it lol
But for the record, it’s very pleasing to the eye, eye candy for sure, hope it’s ear candy too

    Got distortion here too.

Maybe it is or was the intended behaviour for the ‘Turbo’ mode?

I’m a bit torn on wether I should get these or not, the EQ one does add some nice exciter/boost for a quick fix so yeah, I’m not sure yet...

The ‘saturation’ distortion that’s added when turning up the fader is intended.
But with fader all the way down there’s still a weird lo-res digital distortion. Noticeable on sine bass, etc. It’s ugly during soft breaks, fades out, etc.

I wish Korg had added their own maximizer/saturation algorithm in Gadget.
Personally I’m not a fan of Dotec. Their designs are over the top and remind me off Parodius (which is a great game):

Regarding Paridous, I'm not only a SID addict...

Love the sound of those 'old chips' compared to the ultra-clean sound of todays equipment :D
