iOS recorded audio to Ableton Live on a PC - straightforward or not?
I don’t have Ableton Live but I’m thinking of getting it for arranging my audio which is exclusively made on iPads. I don’t have a mac but I have a PC. Is there a simple, quick and straightforward way of getting the iPads audio into Ableton Live on a PC or is it one of these things that is a bit of a pain in the hoop?

If you're talking about import, not live streaming, there are plenty of ways that aren't too burdensome. One of the easiest is to use Audioshare's FTP server and just grab files through your browser. The files app now supports SMB shares if you're on iOS 13, so you can also set up a shared folder and drag/drop things there. But that requires some technical knowhow. Dropbox is handy for this. File managers like Documents by Readdle also have ways to do this.
If you want to directly stream audio into Live, then an audio interface capable of such routing (iConnect Audio is mentioned most often) is the best option. Studiomux ... eh ... cheap but maybe not if combined with medical bills if it drives you insane.
I recommend using AUM to record your loops in time, then export them into dropbox, finish
BTW, you probably own at least one app such as EG Pulse or Koala FX that lets you get a free Ableton Live Lite license. That's a good free way to try Live out.
That's a couple of extra steps, and also extra storage, IMO, but yes, convenient if you have Dropbox installed on all devices (and haven't exceeded the number of devices if you only have the free Dropbox account. And have decent internet connectivity.
Great - thanks very much for those replies. I was thinking about import only @wim and I have both the apps you mentioned - I was wanting to check I wouldn’t end up gnashing my teeth in frustration before setting out with it. I have also found this thread now.
