AudioLayer Alternatives

I’m looking for a sampler similar to AudioLayer but I’m not sure if there are cheaper alternatives that still give me the basic functionality that I need. I’m just looking to take 808 samples and use the piano roll to pitch the sample appropriately.

As far as auv3’s For that purpose, EG Pulse.

Most likely you already own one.
Drambo's latest update has added super quick sampling by simply hitting a key to sample to that key. Or use a shot sampler on each track to re-pitch the samples on a piano roll.
All you need on each track is this:

And make sure you set the track to always receive on the MIDI channel of your choice.

I haven’t figured out how to do this with EG Pulse. I know I can go to the pads that have different pitches but not sure how to do it in the piano roll.

Up to you. It's a solution that works.

@DukeWonder Do the piano roll via midi in your host of choice.

Before playback select the pad of the 808 and put it into pitch mode.

Not sure if that’s what you need but sEGments lets you play samples / slices chromatically.

Lay in your beats in the beat grid, then go to Mixer > Automation and edit the pitches. Not the greatest workflow, but like @ipadbeatmaking says, you can just use your external piano roll of choice. Not many samplers have a built-in piano roll as well, and you'd have to use one with AudioLayer anyway.

Drambo is indeed the closest to what you need all-in-one as far as what you said you want to do. But if you don't get on with it then maybe BM3?

Beat hawk can do this also. I stopped relying on it a while ago personally because it wouldn’t state save the patches I selected after reopening a session. Has that been fixed?

I did this really quick just now with no edits or voiceovers so it’s unlisted on YouTube. I might do a more in depth video when I get time, but this should give u some info on how to do it.

I don't use Beathawk a lot, mainly for the piano sound. What exactly was the problem?

Well shux, that was easy enough. I thought I tried that. 🤷🏾‍♂️ Thanks! Going to have to import my samples into pulse now. Lol.

Is this also possible with digistix?

Edit: Nvm, just found the pitch settings under "Controllers" cheers. Much fun to be had. Love the sequencer on Digistix.
