  • Couple of things on the thread:

1: mute is indeed available in the sequencer view - between the little red Record Arm icon and the + to add new sub-tracks, lower half of the track info column on the left. It's a little speaker icon. But I don't see a Solo.

2: BM2's sampler is indeed awesome. Multiple layers, multiple zones per layer, hold+loop play control, sample editor, and velocity ranges for the layers. The only thing missing I've found (so far) is a feature my S550* has: crossfade velocity switching (with transfer curve) between the layers. BM2 does not seem to do this, it's either the lower one or the higher one, or a sudden increase in volume if you try to overlap them, in the overlap region. Please correct me if I'm doing it w0rng!

    • I'm porting some of my S550 patches into BM2. The fabulous Alto Sax really uses this feature, so I have not yet got it sounding quite right.

3: Akai SynthStation 25: If you plug in from its USB connector, to a hub, just like any other gear, it should just show up in CoreMIDI. However, if you use the 30 pin connector it won't. The only way non-SS25 aware apps can see it then is by using MidiBridge, which captures the Akai protocol and maps it into CoreMIDI. I have not tested yet to see what happens if doing this with a mix of aware and non-aware apps running.

  • @PaulB, I had tried several times connecting them both through MidiBridge. That succeeded in actually locking up the iPad so I gave up on that approach. However on your NLog idea, I like the way you think. That's devious, I will try it later on and report back.

  • @Paul. Nice idea. Sadly, didn't work, keys still freeze

  • Sounds like a MIDI loop, but I have no idea how it might be occurring, since I don't have BM2.

  • @PaulB it was worth a shot, but NLog receives no MIDI from WM either. cheers

  • Managed to get a recording of midi when an instrument is selected but not in an empty patch!

  • heys guys bare with me im new ...lol i want to just use the keyboard of the synth staition 25 without the phone...hope thats helps

  • i brought a oxygen 25 from a friend and that works well with the camera kit...happy

  • Yes, I'm quite happy with the Oxygen too. I haven't found any problems with mine, and I've had it for about a month.

All well till the last update.
I'm getting annoying audio clicks with almost every app when BM is in the output slot, so it's not possible to monitor or record.
Tested with both 256 and 512 frames, matched in BM and AB, same problem.
Auria, Loopy HD, AudioShare, all working fine, so I think its BM...
iPad 3 iOS 6.1.3 (the problem started in 6.1.2, so it was not the last iOS update, it started right after the last BM update).

  • I havent encountered any of this, although a few people have had this issue at the BM2 forum too. I will say that the solution is probably not updating your iOS just for the record... Especially to a version that came out after the problematic app's last release...

  • That's the thing, it happened after the Beatmaker update, not the iOS update, still in 6.1.2. It was Ok before.

  • I gotcha- I probably wouldn't have done the latest update though, as it may make it trickier to track down the solution..
It's been pretty quiet on the intua site, as is the norm. But keep applying direct pressure!

  • Problem with the setting Audiobus ----> Input (Loopy HD) , Effect (nothing) , Output(Beatmaker 2)

My Problem is when i want to record loops from Loopy HD to Beatmaker 2.
How can I record my Loops without Microphone. Because the Microphone is allway on.
And when i Record i always hear the Tv or something with my Beat. How can I turn off Microphone

    I use Headphones.
I turn on Backround Audio in ios and settings in Beatmaker.

When i turn off headphone Monitoring in Loopy nothing happens , when i Turn off live input recording nothing happens.

In Beatmaker when i Turn off Monitoring i can record loops from Beatmaker but I can hear nothing thru Headphones. Only when i recorded it an then push play.
But when i turn on Monitoring beatmaker allways record the Microphone and the beat???

what do i wrong, or is that a bug

  • sorry , I´m stupid. now it works . Must turn off Monitoring and Live input recording in loopy to record in Beatmaker without the internal microphone.

  • have forgot to say that audiobus have put music making to a new age.
Absolut great work . Thank you.

  • My audio tracks were crackling and clipping for awhile. I followed the BM2/ AB tutorial, I messed with the latency, shutdown all apps and rebooted the ipad, re-installed BM2, and tried different combinations of apps and different amounts of music apps running. I was still getting crackle on my tracks. This is on an ipad 4 os 6.1.2, with cpu usage maxed at around 8 to 10 percent, so hardware shouldn't be the problem.

It wasn't until I shut off wifi that everything works perfect now. Is shutting off wifi common practice amongst everyone else, or is it just me?

I've turned Wi Fi off, and I still have clicks in the audio when BM is in the Output slot.
    Outside Audiobus, BM is OK.
Other DAWs and recorders like Loopy HD, Auria, etc. in the Output slot are OK.

  • same problem here

  • Check your latency setting for BM2 (it's inside settings for your actual iPad)

You can turn off input monitoring and headphone monitoring in Loopy so it doesn't cause feedback. It's in main settings window of Loopy.

Btw've encountered a few clicks as well with Loopy-> Beatmaker and also SoundPrism Pro -> Beatmaker on an iPhone 5. Is anyone other than me still experiencing this?
