Make me save 450$ please

I want to buy this:

But honestly, I have SOOO many things to pay this month and next month. It will be better for my bank account to buy a couple of IOS apps I think.

What apps are similar to this pedal?

I'm very interrested in the "delay pattern" fonction. Is there any app that can do delay pattern fonction?

@Michael is making an app that will do all this and more... shipping sometime this decade.

Just wait. You won't be sorry. (I hope that helps).

    EDIT

  • If you’re struggling to pay your bills, only buy gear that you can use to make money, starting with only stuff you absolutely need. It sounds like you can use some financial management counseling. Don’t get stuck in the trap of unmanageable debt. That’s what the politicians and banks want. Then they have control over you and you’ve got nothing. (Trust me. Based on experience with a troubled ex).

I make music for fun. I'm not good at creating music, but I like it so much. Even if my music is bad and just for me, the fun I have writing it worth all the gold in the world for me. But even if I'm just an amateur, I have the desire to buy a lot of things. It's easy to spend 2000$/month on music with all the incredible gear out there.

  • It is easy. If you can afford, and find joy in it just do it.

  • Do I get any kind of commission if I talk you out of it?

Weeee-eellll, let’s not over-promise 😄 It won’t have all those effects, although it’ll have some + audio unit support.

  • GAS is a misdirected libido. Meditate awhile.

There you have it then! Multiple instances of that hardware thingy will cost you $450 each.

Pls forward my $45 money-saver commission via PayPal.

"Make me save 450$ please". He just needs a glimmer of hope.

I'm sure (now that you know he's waiting) you'll throw in the extra FX and just add 2 years to the schedule. (I need to hide now and not read any more comments or PM'ed death threats).

I'm just trying to talk him down from the ledge so he can still make that mortgage payment and cover those medical expenses related to "GAS anxiety".

The check is in the mail and should arrive sometime in 2021 due to the multiple phony
ballots (I'm printing out hundreds of ballots and going out for more paper) clogging up USPS logistics. Of course, I'm voting for Kanye. I just need to figure out which states will take the ballots.

You don’t want that. I just commented today to a friend as we were talking about how reliable but vanilla Boss pedals are that all these “cool” niche pedals today with their prices jacked up aren’t things you can use on more than a couple of tracks before it gets old. A vanilla Boss Flanger is forever, a Hologram pedal is a fad. Ultimately, it’s just a bunch of twiddling around in your bedroom and you’ll get a couple cool things out of it that you can actually use; a more universal effects pedal is minimal fiddling around and maximizing your time making music. Seriously not worth the price.

  • Just so you know, I wasn’t trying to talk you out of it. I was just continuing my conversation from earlier today.

I remember the ending of "Waiting for Godot". Sometimes you just have to trust the Gods
and believe they have a plan. But it will be done when it's done. We don't really need the FX.
We have too many FX apps... were need an updated Looping app that provides recording we can use in AUM.

Hopefully, you're slipping @j_liljedahl the right clues to help AUM be a MIDI slave to hardware clocks (or other DAWs like Xeqeunce). In your spare time of course. Say hi to the kids. If they say "Who said Hi?" Just tell them one of the crazy people in the US where "Mad Max" and "Thunderdome" are real.

The party pooper is correct. Plus this pedal sounds like you could hack the same thing in Turnado and Enso in about three seconds.

    This.
    I agree with every word.

  • Unless you are better than the tools you have now you don’t need anything else that costs more than $10.
(That does not include a better controller keyboard!)

  • I would suggest Fieldscaper for the granulation/glitching closest to this. There are many good delays, reverbs, phasers.

I’ve also gotten good results in this vein just by putting two gate apps in series, and un-syncing the second one. Typically perforator first and WOV last.

  • Buy one tool and learn it well.

This apparently doesn't apply well to the iOS app ecosystem since the prices are artificially low (due to legacy pricing of introducing a once new platform)

  • I might be looking at that if I didn't already have an Octatrack. Good luck.

  • It’s not worth the dough to me....but I’m not you

  • Looks like a neat stomp box, but I’d rather have a ZOIA any day over that. About the same price too.

Also, help me save $1000 for a Synthstrom Deluge while we’re at it.

  • I can’t watch the video at the moment, but didn’t virsyn have a pattern delay app? And turnado can make things pretty wacky pretty quickly. Pay your bills.

As soon as the economy starts to recover I’ll be shopping from the same short list as you

    • Deluge
    • Zoia

Great taste! I’ve been lusting over that Deluge since it came out. Even though I’m sure by now we can do everything the Deluge can do, and then some, on our iPads; it’s just that beautiful hardware! Hard to swallow that price though ughh!

The ZOIA too! Half the price, half the size. Looks like a mini Deluge dressed up as a stomp box.

  • I have to admit that I do like my Zoia.

There are tons of looper patches for it, but the one I use the most is a basic one for guitar practice.

One "hidden" aspect of Zoia is the extensive selection of MIDI related modules - not just for receiving MIDI (eg. when using it as a synth module) or sending MIDI (eg using it as a sequencer), but also processing MIDI. The latest update was heavily weighted towards the MIDI functionality.

Does Fieldscaper sound as smooth when doing granulation from a live signal?

@Montreal_Music Since you already have Drambo, I would say it's possible to re-create this fun pedal in Drambo but it will be a considerable amount of work.
First, you'll have to build your own granular engine using recorders or samplers, delays and envelopes, plus a looper that I would suggest to build from Recorders controlled from the sequencer. Positive side effect is that it will also run in sync with your DAW and that you can add your own ideas, should the effect get too boring one day.
All the other stuff (stuttering, filtering, glitching) is fairly easy to do.

I haven’t done much live input to fieldscaper yet. Borderlands works well with live input though.
