Garageband: How to record a 'mix' of my loop

Yes, a noob question. I've played with garageband a bit and have a few loops that I like playing with ... fade stuff in and out, muting, soloing etc, as the loop plays.

How can I simply record a 'mix' of one of these sessions ? Can I do it in Garageband itself ? Or route the output to another app ?

Sorry, I've googled for the answer without success ... but I have a horrible feeling the answer is going to be so obvious I'll be embarrassed.

  • Tech background: I have my loops on garageband Ipad presently ... also have macbook pro with garageband, (possibility of using ableton live lite, too, though I'd be a total noob with that)

  • One option would be to use the live loops view for playing the loops and record the performance to the time line and then do an export...

Ok thanks, GarageBand docs suggest you can do that, I think I’m on the right track now.
