Reelbus (for Boards of Canada style sounds) Super Deep Dive Video - winners announced!
Reelbus: Detailed Tutorial, Win 1 of 3 copies of ANY ToneBoosters app! PLUS: how to sound like Boards of Canada!!
Reelbus by Toneboosters is a tape emulation plugin perfect for adding the analogue warmth of tape saturation and getting the mildly distorted, warped wow-and-flutter sound so beloved of Boards of Canada. It features an excellent stereo delay with various options for panning and rotation, and a flanger with an option for really long delay times and for slow LFO modulation speeds. Of course, the flanger and delay also have this ‘tape’ character. It’s a deep plugin, in many ways, and this video aims to be a complete guide to how to use the app/plugin that will serve as a replacement for reading the manual.
In one section of the video I make use of an audio recording of steel guitar very generously provided by a regular viewer here on the channel: Ian Ruddock (Rud in the Audiobus Forum). Ian plays harp as well as guitar and is open for collaboration, whether commercial or non-remunerated - just for the love if it!
He can be contacted at ianruddockharp (at) gmail.com
I have 3 FREE COPIES of ANY ToneBoosters app to give away, for subscribers watching in the first 2 days after release of this video. See the pinned comment at the top of the youtube comments section for details.

Please note folks that the giveaway today is not just for Reelbus, but for ANY ToneBoosters app.
Another fantastic video, cheers for the insights.
Thanks Drew, actually almost put this out last week but it got delayed by dealing with the arrival of AddStation and Fundamental. Worked out well though, as a few nice ideas came together over the last few days. Glad you enjoyed it 👍🙏
Thanks for the video @Gavinski . Never been able to fully understand this app.
Thanks Charles! Neither did I til I read the manual thoroughly, did a bunch of supplemental reading, asked Jeroun a few Qs and played around with it a lot. Learnt a lot though I still need to understand more about using the drive section well with different sound sources. Great app.
@Charlesalbert
The video is great , but I think is lost in details ...
first think I’d like to hear is a natural sound source (drums, acoustic instrument ,vocals etc) ,then complex synth sounds and a simple dry wet comparison
@Korakios thanks for the feedback! Most of the sounds I demo dry before applying the effect though. The slide guitar, the strings and choral sounds are all heard dry before applying
