AirPod pros in cubasis 3

So I got some AirPods on Saturday and thought I’d give them a go in cubasis. I wouldn’t think about Bluetooth in the arrangement stage, but for mixing of just audio, latency doesn’t matter. I realise quality will never be as good but I have decent wired headphones and speakers for final mix etc.

Anyway, I had the super low quality problem to start with which had been reported, but this is sorted by turning on Bluetooth in the cubasis settings.

However, I tried barkfilter on the master channel last night and it didn’t do anything over Bluetooth at all. Tried changing back to iPad speakers and it worked fine. Do some au’s just not work with Bluetooth??

It's probably a sample rate thing. I think the sample rate with Bluetooth output is different than without it.

Thanks. Will see if switching makes a difference.

  • Hi @gregsmith,

Please use the following steps to use Cubasis 3 with the AirPods Pro:

    • Please connect your AirPods Pro to the iPad
    • Launch Cubasis and go to Setup/Audio and enable "Bluetooth / AirPlay" by tapping the corresponding button

If the problem persists, please go to Setup/Project and choose (or reselect) the matching sample rate of your project.

    On a side note:
Please note that connecting wireless headphones bring lots of system-related latency, which will make it hard to record instruments in real-time.

    Hope that helps!

    Best,
    Lars

Thanks Lars! I’ve actually been doing this already but will have another go. No worries re. Latency as I use cubasis for mixing audio that I’ve imported from AUM.

I’ve got some Aukey Ep-T27 Airbuds and here is the trick with Cubasis 3 for proper audio:

    • Launch AUM first in background (or Audiobus) to force 44.1 kHz
    • Launch Cubasis 3 and enable audio Bluetooth in settings
    • Set 44.1 again in Cubasis 3 ( in case of slow audio)
    • You can quit AUM/AB to save ressources and keep CB3 running

That seems to work everytime and fixes 22050 Khz CB3 BT issue.
