Haha, fair enough. @McD anyway, I think you have this masochistic streak that means you wouldn't enjoy it as much if you got it for free. Never mind having to actually wait two days 😂
@Morgman73 I'm knee deep in this thing again, it's awesome. Lot of fun to be had getting a nice midi sequence going and then playing with the routing section.
Really happy with this. Can twist a simple a drum loop into a massive techno sound.
Lost several hours last night. Excellent stuff.
Yes, QVox and others like Discord4, Flux:FX or Modley...
I like and use pitched delay a lot.
And crystals, and Woodulator. But I guess per step pitch is a different thing completely.
@MonzoPro i definitely wouldn’t let lack of per step pitched delays keep me on the fence, this is a beautiful app, great interface, pretty unique, seems stable etc etc
I don't have Crystals and Woodulator (but this one is definitely on the top of my wish list), but you're right, per step pitch would be completely different and, imho, so fun !
Problem is that it seems clearly very hard to do, though feasible if reports of that desktop app doing it are correct.
Yeah I’ve always loved the delays in their synths, and your vid has certainly pushed me off the fence. Just need to see if I win your code (unlikely!) otherwise I’ll raid the gas meter tin for loose change.
Being somewhat disappointed by existing delay plugins as well, I'm thinking about building an alternative solution soon.
Odds are pretty crap on this one, but you never know!
@rs2000 I'm sure you'll do something great
I'm surprised to see that we don't have good enough delays. Eventide, Kosmonaut, Dubstation, Delay3000, RE-1, BLEASS, TTAP... there is one for every track. But there is always room for another, or the one rs2000 will make (in D?)
I'm also trying to build something (in D), but now that I know that @rs2000 is working at it, I can spend and enjoy time on other things 😁...
This thing’s a tweaker’s paradise - so much to play with
Pt 3 video is a short one focusing on tweaking your own patches and looking at the sequencer in more depth.
It’s very nice this: AddStation + this + Blackole triggered by Steppolyarp = instant Ashra Hillage. Loverly.
I'm really appreciating AddStation more than I expected to. Quite original and organic sounds you can get out of it.
Did you buy this Yukawa or did you win a copy? If you bought it... what do you think? Thumbs up, down, or somewhere between?
I bought it, I never win anything....
I’ve only had a quick play, but it does exactly what I expected. It’s a particular rhythmic effect that some of my favourite bands use. I’ve got far too many delays already, but I don’t think any can do what this does, as it’s linked in with a filter and sequencer. Very motorik. I thought FD-1 would cover it, but I can’t get my head around that one, this is more user friendly.
The demos give a good indication of what it does, so if you like the sound of those, for six quid it’s worth a punt. Otherwise I’d give it a miss as there are more flexible alternatives. I’m happy with it though, and it’ll definitely get used on some of my tracks.
Fd-1 and this sound COMPLETELY different. They both sound great, but no comparison. Fd-1 is a lot beefier, this has a more lo-fi vibe, I like both.
I picked it up last night, as I’d already checked out the demos. Partly because I wanted a fresh treat
and mostly because I like the interface. I like FD-1 too though and have been playing with them together on the same source for interesting effects. I beta’d on FD-1 though and had someone to ask how stuff works as it was being developed. I think with FD-1 it’s easier to go through the presets to see what’s going on.
Glad I picked this one up though. Thx 😊
It’s a lovely thing, glad you like it. I did a little track with it earlier, works nicely with arp’s, and I like to put a reverb app at the end of the chain.
Thank you very much for this. Was confused by that filter bit as well.
This is actually very easy to understand once you get it but maybe a) the routing section looks more complex than it is just because of the way the UI looks (although it really is a beautiful UI) and b) the manual is good but sparse, so I found it confusing at first. So it's simple to understand actually but when you start doing complex routings and especially cross feedback between the two delays, it gets deep and harder to predict. There's a lot to tweak! Having filter cutoff and resonance sliders for each step of the sequence is just brilliant. Really enjoying exploring this one, immense fun. Was lost in it for hours yesterday.
Putting this here for posterity though it also has its own thread. The more I play with this update the more I realise that it is a serious gamechanger. It basically brings the possibility of a kind of ratchet sound to anything. It has moved very far beyond being just a delay. It's a radical update.
Does the sequencer have a swing function?
edit: whatched the @Gavinski video about the added timing function (thanks 👍).This should do the trick as well i guess.Bought.
Exactly, that can basically give you swing
Not sure how I missed this delay when i went on a hunt for a Filter delay a while ago.
This seems similar to Kajita delay, but with a less complex, yet more understandable and more configurable routing matrix, minus the reverb, plus more taps and the per tap assign ability of pan, filter, ect. Is this a fair, broad, simplified comparison? Oh hell, I still haven’t received an answer. Off to the App Store!
I feel so stupid, I didn’t realize it was the same dev as Kajita . I love Kajita BTW, it’s just that if I don’t use it on the regular, i forget how to use it, lol. Many times I’ll use a simple delay just to get on with the sound design and keep the project moving. Then during mixing, I replace it with Kajita to make it special. It’s almost like Kajita is its own separate mind set or process, but always has been worth the labor.
