September Again - an ADDStation probe

Experimenting and having fun with Addstation! A different kind beast.

Four instances of Addstation using stock presets. I may have flicked a knob or switch here and there, but mostly stock. Sequencing handled by Fugue Machine and Atom. A bass line with Bassalicious 2, piano track from Ravenscroft 275, and Drambo for drums and the FilterStep synth lead part.

Effects are FAC Alteza Reverb and Kosmonaut Delay

  • Thank you for sharing, I like it. Good job!

  • Great track. Really like how it all comes together and is evocative of the title: with the hollow, additive synth pads floating in the distance like an early autumn mist...

  • Nicely done! 🎶 👍
    Thanks for sharing... 😊

    Thank you.

I’m still trying to wrap my head around “additive” synthesis. It’s like everything I’ve learned about subtractive synthesis needs to be left at the door. Judging by the included presets, the potential for sound design is huge. So far, I’ve only been able to ruin sounds lol.

    Sure thing! Thanks!

    Excellent

    Thank you!

I was just realizing that I’ve used the same type of “Linear” descending scale a couple times now. Should probably avoid that in the next projects for a while.

  • Lovely mood! Well done.

Nah, there's always something, I have a hard time considering a song "finished" as well 😋

Thanks. The struggle is real! Now off to the next unfinished project..

  • Nice track mate.

    Thanks for having a listen!

  • Wow. You're arrangement builds like a synth tribute to the style of Bizet's Bolero. The obstinato just keeps chugging uphill until climax and they just glides downhill to the starting line. Beautifully executed and video'ed no less to expose the apps and techniques in force.

A true gem in the Creations category for September.

  • I like the Addstation sounds you chose. Reminded of Tangerine Dream in the beginning .

I’m loving Addstation! Still trying to wrap my head around how the synth actually works, coming from almost everything I’ve learned being on subtractive synthesis (like my Deepmind 12 and 98% of all of the other synth apps on my iPad) For now, I’m just a preset surfer in this one. Need to find some good tutorials on it... shoot, even Haq Attack Jakob is confused lol

I think I’ve decided that I don’t really like the Drambo/FilterStep part. First half could have gone a different direction, without that added. Idk. Might remove that part and try something else. Or just leave it and move on to the next thing...

... “something else” (just an idea for a guitar part that I had in mind)

A condensed version for demonstration purposes of course.

Guitar comes in at the 25th bar...
