Cubasis 3 IAPs
These are currently on sale. Which of these, if any, would you recommend? I'm mainly interested in stuff which either does stuff that current AU3s don't do, or which are much lower on resources (like the Nanostudio plugins which are really efficient).

Sooner or later you'll likely end up getting them all...
My Cubasis installation is 'complete' but you could leave the Classic Machines and Arpeggio Expansion for MicroLogue for later unless that is something you like?
Classic Machines is very limited, no pitching unless you use pitch-bend, no decay control unless you use the 'gate' in the ChannelStrip to cut/fade-out out the audio after it drops a certain level etc. etc.
If you don't have need for an advanced arpeggiator/step-sequencer for Micrologue you can leave that out too.
The two effect packs offer classic bread''n'butter effect and are very cpu efficient and I tend to use them more often than dedicated AUv3's. They may not be super stellar but they're 'good enough'.
The Waves effects are quite handy byt be aware that the EQ's have no spectrum analyser, so it's strictly 'by ear'.
The Waves maximizer is pretty neat for pushing things up in volume unless you already use another limiter?
The newly released free master fx for Cubasis is a more modern take on limiting so it's a matter of 'taste'.
When I use Cubasis on the iPhone I mainly use the built-in effects since I don't have all the AUv3's available on the phone.
I don't regret completing my Cubasis installation which I did long before Cubasis 3 was released...
It's up to you since it's your cash
Cheers!
get IAP pack 1 ( mono-stereo-haas converter) great for masterbus
I think Waves Ultranaximizer may be obsolete due to the intro of the Mastering Strip in CB3.

Yeah I've never used MicroLogue. It seems a bit basic for my needs.
Ah that's good to know. Pretty unlikely I'd use this then. It's just sample based, right?
This is exactly what I was asking. CPU efficient 'good enough' is worth the asking price. Thank you.
I have Pro-Q so probably wouldn't bother with the EQ anyway.
I do, though I've heard good things about it.
Okay thanks, this is useful info. Sounds like I should get the basic effects and think carefully about the Waves stuff.
The two effects packs are a 'safe bet'.
Yepp, Classic Machines is sample based and could equally well have been MicroSonic Presets...
Give Micrologue a spin, it's quite CPU efficient and covers quite a lot of ground, it's missing oscillator sync and some control over the LFOs and modulation routings but it sounds pretty meaty especially when combined with some effects.
Doug did a nice demo of it long time ago when it was released

(Both sounds and arpeggio, worth a watch just in case...).
Waves Plugin Bundle is cheaper at $9.99 for all the 3 as opposed to individual plugins at $7.99 each which are not on sale individually! They are highly memory efficient and no brainer.
Also, FX Packs 1 and 2 are great and essential.
Thanks @Samu - I will check it out.
@MobileMusic - ah, $10 may be worth it then. Interesting.
Thanks all of you this was exactly the kind of feedback I was hoping for
And thank you, @cian, for asking the question!
As one of the many new Cubasis users, I was wondering exactly the same thing.
And, you’re right. As usual, the forum collective is highly efficient at providing quick to-the-point answers to even the most arcane iOS music question.
We are truly blessed!
Classic machines sound great, but are disappointingly inflexible, much like the acoustic sounding kits in the app. They’re functional. The fx packs are unimaginative bog standard stuff, useful to have for when you need to save on CPU. I actually really like micrologue and it’s arpeggiator - it’s one of the more inspiring things about the DAW. Waves FX are excellent. I swear by them.
I bought all of them on this sale. Internal effects packs sounds surprisingly great really, and are very cpu efficient. Waves plugs are a must have and sounds great too. I like the sound of classic machines and arp too. This is also supporting Cubasis with more money. It has its issues but is the best iOS classic DAW IMO.
