Cubasis 3 Plugins Not Persisting

Not sure if this has already been discussed, but when I add any plugins (Auv3 or built-in) to tracks on Cubasis 3 I have to select them all over again once I exit the app. God forbid Cubasis crashes. This happens even with the internal Waves plugins, Nembrini or THU Overloud. Very frustrating because I have to select a different plug-in then go back to the original intended one and have to dial in all over again. I don't have this problem with Auria Pro.

Is this a known issue?

Yeah, it is frustrating to have to set up tracks all over again. We need track templates and also ability to copy paste track settings from one track into another track and also into tracks in another project.

I’ve never had this happen, what IPad OS are you running?

Are these empty tracks with no note or audio clips on them? If I remember correctly, I think empty tracks aren’t saved while tracks that have something in them are,

  • This happens for me, too. Even when I put dummy midi clips on the channel. I’ve sunk so many hours into trying to get CB3 to work, but never had a satisfying session with it.

    Hi @Trentsongs,

So far we are unaware about this problem.

I‘d suggest to give the following steps a try:

    • Load an empty Cubasis project
    • Quit all apps
    • Shut off and restart the iPad

If you‘re able to reproduce the problem (working with the empty project), please let us have a detailed report, using our bug reporting form below.

    Thanks,
    Lars

Nobody? This is a solution to the issue.

Steinberg prioritizes issues based on demand. No votes - no demand.

Duplicate track and delete timeline content to copy it, saving templates with prepared tracks is another workaround. Midi clock / learn, Ableton Link, sidechaining, multi-out plugin support and PDC would be way more useful IMHO.

Only plugins that doesn’t persist for me are IAAs, but haven’t tried since last update.

One annoying bug is that sorting files in MediaBay by date doesn’t work properly, pretty annoying with some hundred samples in the My Samples folder.

Yeah, we know that workaround but it does not meet the needs or solves the issue. Please see the posting on Steinberg forums that explains the issue in more detail. This is a solution to the issue. Steinberg already understood the issue and agreed to implement the enhancement in future. This is just to push its priority. You can vote for it right here on this thread if you do not want to register an account on Steinberg forums to vote

Most of the time, we configure tracks within a project as we go and to copy those track settings to another project is a hassle. What if the AU failed to load due to low memory? It assigns the “No Instrument” to the track that could result in losing its settings. With this enhancement, we could copy/paste track settings from another project or import settings from a track template.

  • Hi, cubasis 3 latest version, iPad pro latest ios. When I load a project, it misses some AUV3 if not all of them. I have to restart iPad. Is it normal? Because it's very annoying. Regards.
