Beatmaker 3: Control Reverse via MIDI?
Hey gang,
I have a really nice setup for controlling BM3 with the Korg NanoKey Studio — basically, the pads select the sample and the keys control it chromatically. Coupled with the NKS’s X-Y pad controlling pitch bend, you can get some truly crazy sounds out of even the most mundane samples.
What I would really like, however, is the ability to assign the mod wheel to the Sample Reverse function. It’s not available in the Focus Actions menu and it can’t be assigned to a Macro, but Reverse DOES show up as an automation target in the clip editor. I’ve RTFM and don’t see anything about midi learn beyond Focus Actions but surely there’s a way to create automations beyond drawing them in?
So my TL;DR question: does BM3 have a hidden way to assign automation targets to midi controllers?
Comments
Sorry.
Focus actions are the only kind of midi controller assignment you have in bm3.
What you are suggesting would be sweet, but I don't think it sounds possible.
I'll definitely be trying your setup on my Nanokey though
Thanks!
Yeah the NKS setup is pretty great. I did it by setting the pads to midi notes 0-15 but you could probably get the same results by changing them to CCs, or even just putting them on a different midi channel
