Thanks for posting that @Skyblazer
The echo is brilliant. The Flanger is really nice, not as adventurous as the Bleass Flanger, more traditional, but sounds good. Reverb also good, not a top end reverb obviously, but good for the price if you need a reverb and don’t want to spend a lot.
I'm trying the reverb out now, and I'm really enjoying it. It's like a far more subtle Ratshack Reverb, but with more modulation options, and it can sound more like a traditional reverb than Ratshack. So personally, I wouldn't recommend it "if you need a reverb". It's a cold, metallic, trippy sound.
It's good if your basic reverb needs are already covered and you're looking for something unique. I find that it pairs well with Addstation.
Yeah, it's definitely not a really lofi reverb, it sits somewhere between something like ratshack and more standard reverbs. Really nice on synths like opl and ob-xd. Not something you would want to use on vocals in a traditional song, unless maybe using just a tiny dab.
Here's my minute-long example of TfxReverb being used to completely change the character of a pad sound. First you'll hear just Zeeon into Blackhole, then Zeeon into TfxReverb into Blackhole.
I would classify TfxReverb as, "a thing that does stuff to your audio". Without any doubt, this is an app that can take one thing, and make it sound like a totally different thing.
@Skyblazer cool! It certainly CAN do that, but it is also capable of much subtler things as well, this is a pretty extreme example.
Anyway, all this discussion put me on in the mood for reverb, and I have spent a delicious evening piping stuff from Xynthesizr into redshrike, sticking on some yukawa which I am absolutely loving, and from there into tfx reverb, ratshack reverb and Schroeder and enjoying the comparisons
Any thoughts/experiences about his drum app?
I can just find the videos from the dev directly , , and can’t really tell if I would like it or not ...
It says „drum synth“ - is it a real synth or is it sample based with a bit of tweaking for the character of the sample?
It’s a real synth. It’s not super flexible, but it sounds good.
Ratshack is a delay
True, technically, but it sounds reverby, wouldn't u agree? @oat_phipps
Is it 808-ish?
Albeit like a very very dirty one of course
