Agree! I will pass because I would never use it.
Goog question, wondering the same.
Though the IAA functionality might end, there are still ways to get the sounds into your projects, especially if you have an audio interface. If you have a field recorder you can get the sound into your projects as well.
Animoog in particular has that built in 4-track, too.
It will run on my iPad Air 1, which is frozen on iOs 10. Alchemy also but it doesn't work as well as it used to.
I think they are functionally the same.
The iPhone version just has a 1-track recorder and the screen layout is slightly different, but it all seems to be there.
The IAPs are separate between the 2 versions. You have to buy them twice.
I wonder if they are any polyphony, bit rate or sample rate differences?
I think you can save the patches on one machine and then transfer the file to the other machine and open them there. I’ve never tried it because it seems like a very annoying hack—as with anything having to do with iPad file management.
Thanks, @CracklePot for the response. Guess I'll wait for the IAP sale, then. Already love what I can currently do on Animoog.
I don't think (maybe I'm wrong) iaps have ever been on sale. 🤔
Ha ha, same for me ! 😂
I unburied my iPad 1 yesterday just to see if Animoog was still there and working. It worked like a charm. Quite incredible that Moog released such a beast at that time...
How long is the sale?
I obviously have Model D. I don’t have this app, always wanted it, I know it’s amazing, etc... but now with a such a shift to AUv3, and my AUv3 centered workflow, I think I just want Model 15. Been waiting for that to go on sale since last Xmas.
Supposedly they are exactly the same except for the GUI size on an iPad.
Still the best sounding synth for ipad of them all. I'm happy for those who don't have it yet and can now buy it for this cheap
The only difference I have ever noticed is that the HOLD button disappears if you run the iPhone version on an iPad.
Okay, so I purchased the Metallic Expansion Pack years ago and totally love it.
If I enjoyed that pack more than the Base Pack, which IAPs would you recommend???
get it!!!.
The R.DEVINE and Acoustic packs are also awesome!
Yes, and also I think you can’t save MIDI CC maps, it just remembers the last settings.
No clue. Just grabbed this as soon as I saw it was on sale and was trying to find a video showcasing the IAPs to decide if they were with grabbing and came across this vid. Just so happened that you asked 1 day after I saw the video lol. Haven't tried it.
Yeah, that was me. First music app I ever bought. I was blown away by how good it sounded. I can only hope there’s someone in the corner of the supply closet at Moog slowly making it AUv3.
I was lucky enough to score great prices on all the apps, and finally the 2020 SE is capable of running Model 15 in acceptable fashion. :P
The stuff I read not only looked super convoluted, but seemed to rely on a technique that Apple removed from iOS quite a while ago. It’s be nice if Moog could add Files support and make it super simple.
Regardless, Animoog still sounds amazing.
Forget about ifunbox. I have transferred presets, timbres and recordings back and forth and always with iTunes (in the past) and Finder, the file system (now) and never had a problem.
I was thinking, if people stop buying it maybe Moog will create an AU version to bust sales again?
And yet, funny enough, I have kind of accepted it as it is...
You enabler. Lol.
I find it somewhat disappointing that the vast majority of apps these days are basically VSTs. Compared to the brilliance of many early apps (Animoog, Samplr, Borderlands, TC-11 etc)
