iPad charging/power draw weirdness, or maybe this is normal.
I did some iPad musicking this afternoon, my iPad had about 20-something % battery. I plugged it into the CKK and charger, and all my USB stuff was connected.
I did some work, took a break, came back and found the battery was down to about 4%. I wouldn't have thought I'd be losing charge while it was connected. I had 4 midi devices connected, plus an audio interface, through a powered hub.
Is this normal? it's a 2018 iPad pro, less than a year old.
Initially I had forgotten to switch on the power to the hub and after a few minutes I noticed my big keyboard wasn't working because of this. The other devices seem to be, or the ones I was using at least. I switched on the power and my bigger keyboard started to work.
I don't really know these things work... Is there a chance the devices were initially drawing power through their connection to the CKK, and though I then powered up the hub, they still were drawing power from the first power source connected, not the new one? I wouldn't have thought it would work that way, I'd think that connecting up some more power via the hub would just increase the supply all around. But I really don't know about this stuff.
thanks
