Now imagine if iMPC Pro 2 had proper support for keygroup programs
MPC Beats on the iPad would be a pure goldmine!
I’ve given up on iMPC Pro...so much promise, but Retronyms really ruined a great app. I always hope that it will make a turn for the better though 😉
If MPC Beats was brought to iOS 🤯
But in the meantime, these key groups work great in Drambo for what it is worth. Here’s a little jam i put together with some samples i captured from Massive X via MPC Beats:
I know what I’ll be building over the next several weeks 💕💕
Considering MPC Beats is free and doesn't require iLock it's a no-brainer in any audio-toolbox on the desktop.
Totally agree. Lots of good in the app to love and use in ones workflow.
@echoopera can you summarize some list of main features which are availble on MPC Beats app but they aren't in MPC One/Live ?
MPC Beats is the MPC Live/One for the Desktop
Here are some KeyGroup Samples I captured from Pigments and Massive X using the AutoSampler tool in MPC Beats:

They run great in Drambo. Just fiddle with the Delay and Release to get them to sound how you want. Cheers.
Beautiful! Sustaining loops too-that ain't easy! Thanks for sharing your hard work @echoopera
Thanks...some of them are still a little rough...but they sound great on the MPC One. Getting ready to post a track made from this little exploration of AutoSampler...and can post the MPC track as well for anyone who might be interested...I think it will open in MPC Beats desktop.
Here's the MPC One built and sequenced track to hopefully enjoy
As always, thanks for watching.
As usual , thanks for sharing
My pleasure sir. I just realized that the Project file i included in the YouTube description has too many Midi Channels and won’t open in MPC Beats. It will only work in the MPC app you get with the ONE.
However, you can still grab the samples and use those in KeyGroups in Drambo, BM3, NS2 and any other app which uses KeyGroups for samples based synths.
I tried yesterday to sample some vsts . It works ok , the crossfading loop makes it painless to find nice loop points.
But unfortunately there is no way to capture playback the decay tail . Any tip/workaround?
There’s definitely a setting in there to capture the tails. On some of my samples i set the tails to 16 seconds.
After the sampler has captured everything you need to open the Program Edit view and adjust the Decay and Release on All the keys and then save that. The Decay and Release will be bound to the saved KeyGroups on the MPC. Works like a charm i feel.
Let me know if you need a video or screen shots and I’ll try and put something together for you. 👊🏼™️
This video helped a lot from the device perspective, but the Software matches the workflow as well. Program Edit let’s you increase the falloff of the sounds and tweak other parameters.
Thanks again!
I realized that (as usual) I misspoke ...
I meant I can find a nice loop region ,but on release it seems impossible to play the rest of the captured tail.
So I could trigger the sample as one shot with fixed length including the tail or assign a loop region that will not include the tail
I'd like to play from start and loop while I hold the pad and trigger the end of the loop point on note off ,but I think it's impossible
Hrmmm. Try messing with the CrossFade during the AutoSampler setup. Test on a single note until it sounds right to your ear. I did a lot of trial and error looking for that looping sweet spot on the VST patches i sampled.
