TFX Reverb by Ryo Togawa Walkthrough Video

TFX Reverb by Ryo Togawa Walkthrough Video

TFX Reverb by Ryo Togawa is a reverb AU for iOS which sounds really good on metallic, electronic sounds, but as I show in this video, you CAN also use it on natural sounds - here I apply it to a harp piece kindly provided by channel regular Ian Ruddock (ianruddockharp @ gmail.com, feel free to contact him for collaborations etc). I also use it on a preset from Phosphor Synth by Audio Damage. TFX Reverb has a pretty cool auto-size feature that allows you to dial in the reverb with just one knob. In this video I also go through some of the basic features of a reverb, so it serves as a kind of Reverb 101 class for those who aren’t very familiar with how reverb works.

  • Great video as always @Gavinski.

    Love this reverb.

I know you’re a fan of this dev - I only got his apps because you went on about how good they were so often here, so thanks for that 😉. @Charlesalbert

  • I went to purchase this and got through the payment part only to be told it won't work unless I update to 13.6. The thing is my ipad wants to update to 14! Which is 2.25GB! and I'm not sure I want to update to this as I am quite happy with 13.5.

Don't suppose I can update to 13.6 without the massive jump to 14?

They have also charged my credit card so any potential buyers need to be aware of this.

  • Informative and soothing as always. I like this reverb very much.

Good to know, don't worry, I'm sure Apple will refund this. Weird, should definitely tell you that before charging you, 😂

Yes I hope so but would rather keep the app TBH, also I bought the TFX delay app and that works fine without any OS update.

  • Yes. By the way, the dev, Ryo, mentioned today that he does not recommend users update to iOS 14, as this app, like many others, currently has problems with preset management and a few other things in iOS 14

Just wanted to clarify it was my mistake. I haven't been charged for the Reverb just the Delay app. Is there anyway I can update to 13.6 without the massive update to 14?

    Thanks

    No idea, sorry! @Sandstorm

ok thanks. Will wait and see how IOS14 pans out in the next couple of weeks, It's still a hell of a lot of storage this new OS takes up though!

  • @Gavinski, you. Might want to check this video settings, it's not playing on my android.

No, it says 'watch this video on YouTube' which is exactly my intention. I explained here before that I disabled embedding because I spend a lot of time doing this and it is better for me if people view in YouTube, rather than in their browser or on Facebook or whatever. All you need to do is click 'Watch this video in YouTube'. Thanks for understanding.

I'd rather go right to YouTube otherwise I'm liable to not watch the video. Keep up the good work @Gavinski B)

  • Thanks a lot Anickt, I'm glad you agree. 👍

  • @Gavinski alright I understand, thought something was wrong :) And I’m lazy to click through. And since I have limited data, I always have the feeling it costs me more data because the video maybe starts loading/buffering in the background first in the browser before I can open it in YouTube :) not sure about that.
But now I get that YouTube doesn’t count embedded videos for ratings!

  • It does actually, I was wrong about that before. But there are lots of other reasons it is better to view in yt. By the way, it can also save u data to view in yt. Cos when u go into yt you can choose the lowest resolution version in settings, it is always a higher resolution viewed in browser. So if u want to save data, view in youtube for sure
