App recommendation for carving a muddy chaotic mix / working around frequency masking - Perforator🙌🙌

Hiii

I’ve been working on taming some muddy + chaotic mixes the last month with many suggestions from forum members here

This came as a suggestion from another forum user, however I wanted to reiterate here as it has been so helpful

I just wanted to say to anyone who finds themselves in a similar position, Perforator is incredible for allowing you to quickly experiment with carving out space in your mix as it allows you to create everything from hard gates to rhythmically sequenced swells along many different time scales~ Such a powerful and effective tool in mixes where I wanted to retain many chaotic elements while creating clarity and separation

Yes. Perforator can take anything like a dense track of noise and make it useful to create a great rhythmic track. I was working on a collab and could not figure out how to take a project that just had too much going on layered up to a bit of a mess. I dropped Perforator and each track and started flipping through the presets and end up with 1-2 tracks that could now rise up out of the chaos and make a valid statement for my mix of the collab.
Your always afraid to over edit someone else work but sometimes you just want less input to be happy with the results.

Perforator becomes a stencil for rhythm that lets sound through in precise patterns. I'll be it has a million uses for the truly creative... maybe on a side-bus to add stuttering echoes to a goal track? Or on a bad rhythm guitar to make it sound very precise... just strum blindly and fix it up with the Perforator.

Perforated Pads aren't really pads any longer. They are keyboard wizards with nimble wrists.

Perforator is a Bram Bos app and he also has another Rhythmic Multi-Output Effect called "ScatterBrain Audio Splitter" that can add interest to an overly cluttered project.
