Feature request: Anyone else here like the idea of custom scales in Cykle?
Cykle https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/cykle/id1187680637 is a fantastically creative sequencer, and my go to for idea generation. I was recently noodling around with Autopad https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/autopad-ambient-pad-loops/id1270890718 and chanced upon a chord progression I really liked. Being a musical klutz, I didn’t know what it was, so used an online tool to identify it, and thus discovered the Enigmatic scale. I plugged that scale into Ableton as a custom scale, and am enjoying playing with it there - ideal for slow spooky dark ambient. But IOS is where I make nearly all my music, AUM is my environment, and Cykle my sequencer of preference.
Soooo... I wonder if @cp3, who has already made many great improvements to this innovative sequencer, might be interested in opening up Cykle to user defined scales? Just me, or does anyone else think this would be cool?

I love being able to define user scales quickly.
One of my favorite apps for doing that is still Oscilab.
This guy knew how to design a user interface!

Genome MIDI also supports them btw. Once set, the piano roll will only show the chosen notes.

LK will support scales very soon too.
That's just about the only thing I miss in Cykle...
Just had this from @cp3:
“ I've been getting a lot of requests for this, so I guess I should get on with it. it shouldn't be too hard to implement, the only problem I'm facing is how to sensibly map pitches between arbitrary scales. i.e., if the user switches from a chromatic (12 pitch) to a pentatonic (5 pitch) scale, what happens to the "in between" pitches.
Anyway, I'll look into it. I have a new job that's been keeping me pretty busy so I can't promise when it'll be done, unfortunately.”
Excellent news!
I would love Chromatic scale, I don’t need to make my own, just need all the notes to be available in the sequencer. The Chromatic option dosent need to follow the Transpose logic. when you press up or down arrow that it could exeed the 7 available squares (that are used for scales) and just be a chromatic piano roll up and down 7 octaves you know? Press one button to jump up 7, another to go up just one square.

I’ll be praying
