Moodunits 1.3 update video demo of IAPS (winners announced)

A quick demo of the instrument IAPs in the new update of Moodunits (if watching in the first 2 days of release, there are 3 free copies of all the IAPs and 3 free copies of the app for subscribers - look at the pinned comment at the top of the YouTube comments section for details).

The new IAPs include mono bass patches, sine-wave based instruments, retro strings and amped up analog synth sounds.

  • Some really beautiful sounds in there, bravo @moodscaper

  • Yeah, some great ones!

  • It a weird update though, no update in the App Store but if you click on the in app purchases on the moodunits app page it then takes you to the moodunits home screen which has the store and user guide but nothing else. I was assuming there would be an app update which I kept looking for.... But there is no app update per se

  • Oh yeah, now u mention it, I don't think there was an update.... Huh, weird indeed!

  • Also I had to restart iPad just like you mentioned in video

  • Yea no official App Store update.

This is how I did it, go to moodunits App Store Page, select the IAP you want, they are all listed at the top, the bass one is free. You Select the pay button on a particular IAP, and do your purchase method. Then I had to shut down and restart iPad, for it to show up in the AUV3. Got Strings and Free Bass pack, they both sound amazing, but it Is quite an odd update, with no actual app update.

If you search moodunits in App Store, the app comes up, along with the 4 new IAPs as individual purchases.

  • Yes, I think I forgot to mention in the video too that I had to try a few times to download things before they downloaded successfully. But it sorted itself out quickly and was a very minor inconvenience.

Hmmm... there is an actual app update. I would suggest...

    1. Go to the App Store
    2. Download the latest version of the app (you need the latest, to see the IAPs)
    3. Launch the moodunits app - it should be 1.3.1 (1) or later
    4. The initial screen should have an MU STORE button (tap it)
    5. You should now be in the MU STORE (such as it is)
    6. You can purchase and download IAPs from here
    7. If you get errors, try a power cycle of the device and repeat from step 3 (I'm working on a fix but the App Store still seems a bit flakey with downloads and / or I'm doing something wrong - it changed a bit around the iOS 14 release as you may have heard)
    8. Once your instruments show as PURCHASED you can quit the moodunits app until "next time" ;-)
    9. Launch the Waverley AU in any host and it should have the new instruments available (you need to close all instances and re-launch if you already had any running as it does some one-off housekeeping things when you download new instruments)
    10. That's it, basically!

I shall add this ^ to the User Guide.

The ability to launch the app as you describe from the App Store relates to promoting In-App Purchases - a new(ish) thing that's been around since iOS
    12. It looked like it might be worth a shot, but I have to agree, it's kinda weird. It's a sort of deep / app linking type feature.

    Hope this helps.

  • I completely apologize, it must have snuck past me or something. There is an actual update for the app

It did. Thanks. Sorry for the confusion I typically watch my updates like a hawk, and I’ve been waiting on this one so I’m not sure how I missed it. That’s what threw me off I never saw it to be updated but I eventually scrolled down and found it updated already. IT might have been in a large group of app updates and got past me, I don’t know. But there was an actual app update and I truly apologize for any confusion.

I really really love this app, and it’s sound, Congratulations on the Update @moodscaper Keep up the great work.

  • The lucky winners:

    Fredrik lenberg IAP
    Pablo Lopez IAP
    Picturewerks APP
    Groove Maker IAP
    Marco Herrarte APP
    r618 APP

    Congrats! 🎉 🎉 🎉
