  • This is why I hate the Drambo megathread!
    It's like being forced to read the minutes of a community board meeting, where the big news is buried and only available to the wonks who have followed every twist and turn. It really doesn't help the Drambo community reach a broader audience. But maybe they like being insular and having their own secret society?

    This seems like a truly elegant development.

  • Clear, simple and to the point, nice one 🙏

    And its not only a midi generator as showcased nicely in your video, but Drambo now also can be used as midi processor modifying the input midi from keyboards or other sequencers:

    • Chord Generator
    • Scale Quantizer
    • ARP module
    • Transpose module

    and have the settings of these modules sequenced by Drambos sequencer...

    👍🏼

    .

    Proabbly going to put that one on PatchStorage, even through its quite simple.

    In the above screenshot i defined to generate a mayor chord, but scale quantize to C Dorian - with the result that nearly all notes (except C#) will play slightly different chords due to the quantization :)

  • Drambo as midi fx in hosts could potentially reach out to a larger audience than those who like to tinker with modular audio. If patchstorage could get many interesting midi patches for Drambo, its appeal should be comparable to Mozaic.

  • Please do that, @_ki

    The ‚MidiFx - Single Note To Chord’ is now on PatchStorage

    .

    @bleep I suspect that the advanced logic possible in Mozaic would result in super complex module combinations and many things are probably not feasible to be done in such a modular way.

    Its like transcribing a high level computer language back to assembler.

    Think of the simple lines

    If a = 17
      Out  = b+ 23*c
    Else
      Out = a * b - 15 *c
    Endif

    resulting in a switch modul, several sum and product modules. And normally code consists of many of these computing or branching statements.

    .

    But if only using the existing high-level modules (like in my example) the patch is easier to build than with Mozaic - and i imagine that the parameters can be automated per 1/16 or other beat division... Thats the next thing i‘m going to try :)

    Believe me it’s appreciated. I love being able to find the exact video I need when i run into a problem

  • Midi strum module now!? Wow!!!

  • @_ki yeah sure, I didn't mean that it would make sense to recreate complex scripts with Drambo midi. But there are already pretty neat things that can be done, and then combine this with p-locking, audio modulation of midi parameters (!) etc.
