Eventide TriceraChorus Super Quick Video Walkthrough & Synth Demo

Eventide TriceraChorus Super Quick Video Walkthrough & Synth Demo

Eventide’s new TriceraChorus - for desktop and iOS - combines a bucket brigade delay type chorus effect with the classic Eventide micropitch algorithm for detuning. It gives individual control of the left, center and right parts of the chorus effect, and has an envelope follower to boot!

  • FAC still da best...but at least there's a clear runner-up now. Have only put it on guitar so far; it sounds good but a little fake-stereo-y and there's an oomph missing.

  • FAC remains the fattest chorus on iOS, yes

  • Oh no, another Eventide release? At least this one looks to be $9.99 (U.S. store). Man, Eventide is going for it with these iOS ports! I've been pretty pleased with all of the ones I've tried so far (particularly the reverbs). Actually have not tried FAC, though, so I will look there first.

True - the TriceraChorus is good/nice/useful I guess, but not my go to. There's just an instant pleasure that I get from FAC that I'm not finding here. I find myself a bit disappointed with Eventide in general. I think I need to stop buying their apps unless they come out with something really special (which could mean almost anything - I'm open to that).

Oh, so glad to hear that.

Saving my pennies for Black Friday!

Yeah, I’ve really soured on Eventide in general. If you’re charging $14.99 per individual effect, there comes a time when you really have to wonder how many iOS presets do I have to purchase before I’ve paid the full price of an H9???

Yes, yes - not cheap relative to iOS. And... there is some overlap in sounds with their effects (verbs most obviously but others as well) making me wish that they put more real functionality/greater breadth in the individual offerings. Last, to complete my bitch-session, I sometimes find that the basic sounds lack a character that makes me want to use them. This last is entirely subjective of course. I have them them all, so maybe it’s time to stop throwing my money at them.

  • In all honesty, I do need to correct myself.

Like most Eventide products, their launch price is discounted. In this case $9.99.

I do love a great many of their effects. However, I feel there are equally great iOS options in most cases that don’t break the bank.

  • I'm not saying FAC is better. I'm just saying it's fatter! Bleass Chorus, this, FAC all have their own strong points in my view.

  • those 3 choruses are very different.

  • What do you mean no codes? :joy:

  • This sounds way cleaner and more versatile than the FAC chorus. Definitely different use cases I think.

    Travesty, right? 😝

  • Sounds good from the demo, seems to be more creative uses out of this than FAC. Really hope that Eventide start doing bundles though :)

It would feel like sense to me if Eventide made bundles following the hardware products i.e. Space bundle, Time Factor bundle, etc. But releases are close to that yet?

  • I'd definitely like to see Eventide doing bundles, for sure, because the price really adds up over time.

  • This is the first eventide I’m gonna skip

  • Man, I'm really starting to fall behind on the Eventide apps.. I'll have to do a sweep of them during their next sale..

There's definitely not the same buzz around this as other recent Eventide releases - I think the AB and iOS music community in general just don't get that excited about choruses, though they certainly still get more love than flangers lol 😂. Certainly this is a good sounding effect, of course, no question there.

  • I love chorus. Thank you, Eventide.

Yeah I remember chorus from when I played guitar as a teen, but don’t really see how it fits into my music nowadays. I’ve used it for thickening up a sound before I think but that’s about it.

I haven’t even watched your video yet so maybe that’ll change my mind 😉

  • Ah, this can definitely add a nice movement to things, don't write it off right out if the box if you haven't watched any vids on it haha.
