    Midilooping (still in progress):
    Am seeing at the moment Firo into Thumbjam. Midi keyboard into Firo. Midiflow
    transmitting the tiny cymbal in Firo and the
    Midikeyboard's record button as triggers for 'record on' in Thumbjam. Yeah;)

    Midiflow preset http://preset.midiflow.com/ijSO4nZbfs Audiobus preset 'loofy': http://preset.audiob.us/Mnjr38XQnTGmzWu

    (axiom air mini 32, insert your toy piece here)

    Toggling the cymbal next to the metronome in Firo
    activates Record on (and then overdubbing) in
    Thumbjam.

    Next stop: bluetooth, pedalboard, and other remote scenarios ...

    As titled: Fugue, Alchemy, Neo. Holy shit.

    @JohnnyGoodyear yeah, it's full of stars ... Getting closer to a 'working' workaround for the audio/midi looping dilemma. I merged two previous ideas, with Firo, Thumbjam and LoopyHD as equal players and recorders - and external midikeyboard and a bluetooth keyboard, Midiflow carrying the start/stop bindings for Thumbjam, Firo and ext. controller, while the bluetooth keyboard has the same triggers preparated for Loopy as the improvised and 'rescheduled ' drumpads of Firo.

    The trigger for Thumbjam to start and stop loop recording can be activated by the midi keyboard's 'record' button as well as from a dedicated drumpad in Firo, the tiny cymbal (upper row, right corner, left to the metronome)

    Furthermore, Firo's drumpads or alternatively BT keys, trigger certain actions in Loopy:

    first (upper) row - 'record on/off' ... 'record on/off, then overdub' ... 'record on/off, mute, select next track'
    second (middle) row - 'delete track' ... 'session pause on/off'... 'record on/off, then record next track'
    third (lower) row - 'previous track' ... 'mute on/off' ... 'next track'
    BT keys are *e,r,t *d,f,g *c,v,b

    Now, Firo's excellent loopers capture for example the midikeyboard's live playing on ch.1, keep in mind Firo's instrument icons point to midi channels 1 to 13, so you can play Firo's own sounds (also soundfonts) and Thumbjam's multiple instruments on a different channel.

    You can record the midi looping in Firo, you can record the midi/audio in Thumbjam, and you can record with LoopyHD. Depending in which app you're currently 'lodging', you can of course in addition use ab sidebar controls and ab remote triggers.

    Midiflow with Controller Remapping. One or more external midi controllers. Tweak to your preference. Cheers:), crs

    p.s.: Going to try with midiSTEPs and Fugue Machine etc.

    Thank you to
    @adamkumpf (Firo)
    @Alexandernaut (Fugue Machine)
    @artkerns (midiSTEPS)
    @JohannesD (MidiFlow)
    @Michael @Sebastian (Audiobus2, Audiobus Remote, LoopyHD)
    @sonosaurus (Thumbjam)

    Preset folders would be cool. It would also be neat to be able to use the app names from each preset as a ready made preset tagging system.

    The more I think about it and the more I fear even looking at my preset list, the more I like this idea. App list at the top of presets, select one to filter your list to ones containing that list. And/or 'show only active apps' that would filter by apps you currently have loaded in AB.

    Is it too soon after the AB3 release to bring preset organization feature requests. :blush: I'd still love to see folders and app based filters. The filter set would appear in the top right corner of the preset list. Tap an icon and a list of apps appears. Tapping one filters the list of presets to presets that include that app.

    Filter list would preferably be based on the presets themselves (so if I have no presets stored with Drum Perfect in them, it wouldn't appear in the filter list). Second best would be to only show apps in the filter list that support state saving. Still, just a single list of all AB installed apps would help me navigate the madness! Still a fan of 'show only active apps' too.

  • +1 especially folders as soon as possible as that's probably quicker to implement first.

    Yup.

  • I'm surprised there aren't more shared setups in this thread; seems like an awesome opportunity to share. Have folks moved over to the wiki instead?
