Real knobs, virtual knobs
Opinions please! Do you prefer synth controls on the touchscreen, or using physical knobs sliders etc.

Physical is way better imo.
Ofc for some things touch screen makes more sense than having a room full of knobs, or hundreds of maps in a midi controller(s), just so that you could control something you rarely need to control via physical controls.
We have two kinds of “memory”
For performance I prefer muscle memory which is optimized with physical K-nobs
physical all the way! especially when performing.
For me, a X/Y pad is a kind of knob. The knob is controlled by the X/Y virtually. Like in Elastic FX
I prefer physical knobs, but I also really like X/Y pad.
Wow. overwhelmingly physical controls over Virtual. Makes me feel good about purchasing a keyboard with physical knobs and pads.
The trouble with virtual knobs, I find, is that it is impossible in most cases to rotate them beyond about 50%. After that, they just go backwards.
A short range/validation routine would solve that (familiar) problem.
But not all virtual knobs are created equal.
Physical Knobs for the most part. Novation LCXL knobs feel very good, very responsive, not flimsy.
On the other hand, when earthly physics prove too limiting, there is nothing like LEMUR. Hoping it’s not abandoned.
