DJ stutter fx similar to Cubasis Spin FX?

Hello!

Can anyone recommend iphone compatible DJ stutter tools similar to Cubasis Spin Fx? I love the simplicity of Spin FX but am wondering if there are other tools out there with more options/ punch in fx etc?

Does not need to be auv3 could be standalone, just looking for something that can run on iphone so unfortunately effectrix is out

Looking to load in fully mixed stereo tracks and just play with stutters/repeats/slow down/reverse/fx etc

Agreed with Steve. Koala FX probably a pretty good choice for what you’re looking for..

  • Atomizer is really close to SpinFX

    https://apps.apple.com/us/app/atomizer-auv3-plugin/id1450147164

Koala FX is also great SP404 type FX, the XY grouping is amazing.

If you're into modular, you can build a pretty good clone with

    NuRack

  • Thank you so much for this!

All of these are great best repeaters but none of them do the cheesy DJ slow down/rev make up fix that mimic basic turntable work(Unless I am missing something?)~ is anyone aware of any auv3s that have something comparable this aspect of Spin FX?

Elastic FX doesnt do cheezy slow down but...

If subscription doesn’t horrify you maybe this is a thing...

  • Replicant 2 is like Frank's Red Hot - I put that sh!# on everything :)

Reelbus does the slow down effect, and FlyTape does a primitive version of it. I think only SpinFX does the opposite, the real-time "speed up to normal speed" effect.

You can also load a sample into Sparkle, set "Hybridization" parameter (at the bottom left) to 0, and draw automation for the "Target Ratio" parameter to make it do a smooth slowdown and/or speedup. Or use the "Pitch" parameter (at the bottom right) and automate the volume. (But it does require you to load a sample, rather than doing it in real-time.)

Edit: Actually, looks like the easiest way to do it with a sample (still not in real-time) would be with Drambo's Flexi Sampler. Set it to "Loop" mode so that it stops playing the loop when you release the key, and move the "Pitch" knob down to -24 semitones, then back up. Or the "Speed" knob.

    LOL

  • Effectrix or Looperator from Sugarbytes should also be considered

  • Try rmx-1000 by Pioneer

Turnado with this preset I made works pretty well.

    https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/38903/turnado-a-more-tame-preset

Hooray! Turnado does the real-time stop and speedup! No need to load a sample into Drambo or Sparkle or Cubasis!

So for that specifically, you can just put the "Vinylizer" effect on one of the 8 pads, tap "Edit" on it, then select the "ManualStop" preset. Thanks @coolout for the preset; gives me a good starting point for the other DJ effects.

  • Yea, dig into turnado, you will be surprised at what you can get it to do once you get in there and build your own settings. One of my go to apps I use on everything I do. Even process my mpc through it a lot.

Turnado is crazy deep once I started doing my own presets, by far my favorite multi fx app

Yes, by far my favorite too, I love the vibroflange in koalafx too, but I make ALOT of Lofi hiphop so everyone might not like that. I think FLYTAPE is dope but I feel Turnado is more precise and I get less bugs with turnado

Don’t forget GarageBand! It has an fx track much like the Cubasis one. Doesn’t fit many’s workflow - but it’s free to try - and you can export audio out to files quickly.

Yeah I’m a big fan of koala fx myself, I like doing a lot of lofi stuff as well and I’ll admit that it’s usually my goto for getting that vibe. The vibroflange, bit crush, and filter with a touch of reverb gets used a lot. I really like the reverse on it too for pads and ambient stuff

  • Vibroflange all the way, I’ll admit I use bm3’s native bit crusher most the time set to sp303 or sp202 settings.
