Question about Audiokit L7 Looper in AUM
Let's say I open AUM with 3 differents synths on 3 differents channels. I have 3 midi controller on chan 1, chan 2 and chan 3 to control each synth.
Now I want to use AudioKit L7 to loop.
How is it possible to record the synth 2 and 3 in the looper?
In this scenario, Shockwave will be recorded in L7. But If I play on my second channel, L7 will not record.
In others words, how is it possible to setup L7 to record multiple channels?
Only 1 instance of this looper is possible.
Maybe this easy way is to use Audiobus.
Comments
Setup a master channel and bus all channels to it and have l7 on that channel.
Thanks. I don't want to push my luck, but if possible, 1 or 2 screenshot will be very appreciate. It may be obvious, but I'm not sure how to do that correctly.
You would need to have L7 in a separate channel that receives input from a mix bus. Then you can use a bus send (that you can toggle by sliding) from each instrument channel. Alternatively, you can just make each instrument channel output to the mix bus.
Edit: too late 😛
Ok I think I got it! Thanks!
So you can do it easier than my screenshot but I like to setup a drum bus and a synth/melody bus and send them both to the master bus, but you could just send everything to the master bus.
Like so
Very clear! Thanks a lot! I have learned something new with AUM.
Np. I friggin love AUM.
also @Montreal_Music , try bus send (my fav)
Nice! Also, last question about this looper. Why do I have 8max track looper in AUM and 32 max track looper with Audiobus?
@Montreal_Music works here tho ipadOS 14.1
Tap the numbers and you can change it
L7 looper does not work in AUM with iOS 15.4. All seems OK but I cannot hear the sound of my recording.
If you mean "while recording", you could insert a Bus Send before L7. Send it to another bus as "monitor". Send is a separate choice in the AUM Inserts and Effects menu.
Did it behave differently before set up in exactly the same way with the same monitor settings?
Are you saying you don’t hear playback audio or you don’t hear the input you are recording while recording? If the latter, you probably haven’t turned live input monitoring on in the l7 settings.
I do not hear the recording sounds. I used this apps many times and it looks like a bug.
Look in L7's settings and turn on Live Input Monitoring. It is off by default.
When I'm stuck with a problem, I reboot my iPad. TADAM MAGIC all is good now.
Phiew because I really like this looper.
I tried Enso. Super cool looper with a lot of really cool fonctions, but I like to be able to delete or redo let's say track 2 and then track 8 or 11 or whatever when I'm layering.
Let's say you have 10 layers with Enso and your layer 2 (let's say some piano chords) are not what you want anymore. How do you erase and retake this track? Only L7 can do this (to my knowledge). Also Loopy, but not AUV3 (and I don't have Loopy Pro yep).
