How are Jamup Dirt Pedals?
Hello there, I never used jamup, but only BIAS with Wow or my pedals, but now I'm without my analog gear, and is impossible to change preset in wow via MIDI, so I'm thinking to buy jamup pro xt and some dirt pedals, like Rat, boss OD1 and the Big Muff, maybe the Metalzone... But, are they enough good? Is it better to keep my money and import different amps with different gain stages and eq in jamup from bias and simply change preset with a midi foot controller? I tried the free tube screamer in jamup and I like it, even if I never owned the real one! Don't forget that I play mostly alternative rock, shoegaze, noise, post rock, IDM, so I'm not a sound purist. (and I feel lost without a Rat and a Big Muff) cheers

I have most of the JamUp pedals and almost all the amps. I'd be happy to answer questions about any specific one. First tip - don't buy them individually. I got all mine around December when the bundles were on sale for 4.99. Even at 9.99, it's still a better value. All my money spent in the app is probably only about the cost of a real-life Boss DS-1!
The pedals in JamUp by and large are quite good. I can't think of any that are just awful. But one thing to note is that almost all of them (except the Metal Zone) have some type of bass drop. That's true of a real-life Tubescreamer, and consistent with the overall slant of JamUp towards high gain and metal players. In a bass heavy amp, you actually want the dirt pedal to cut low end so you get a clearer sound for solos, etc that doesn't get muffled out by the low end. The Merrow Drive works well for that. The Loomis OD and yellow Distortion pedal, however, don't have as much low end as I would like if you're just adding them to a clean amp. I think the yellow one is supposed to be an OD-3, but I prefer the real life version of that pedal.
However the sounds are all there if you look for them in JamUp. I just happen to prefer switching between amps if I want a higher gain or lower gain sound. The Bias amps seem to handle some of the clean and vintage tones better than the ones in JamUp. But the Bias amps do seem to change in character once they are imported into JamUp a bit. For what it's worth, I do like both the rat and fuzz pedals offered in JamUp provided that you pair them with the proper amp.

Ok! Thank you for the advice! Tomorrow I will buy JamUp and some bundle! Before I was messing around with my virtual clean amp and the virtual tube screamer and the sound was very warm and full of harmonics! I can't wait to see what other dirt pedals can do! ^.^
Let's just say that before I had an iOS music app addiction, I had a guitar pedal addiction, and I am definitely able to create a broader variety of sounds with JamUp than I ever was with the several dozen pedals I owned at one time or another. JamUp is the best all-around option out there, in my opinion. Not all the effects are great representations of their real-life counterparts, but they are all there and they work.
Get the metal signature pack, it's very very good. Don't pay attention to the name of the pack, it's a very well rounded set of amps and pedals.
Oh yes, I had a pedal addiction too, I wasted many many money and time buying\selling pedals. Now I sold everything because I need money in something more important![:/ :/](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/confused.png)
And yes, I found my ultimate sound with a bounch of cheap (but gorgeus) apps than when I was using dozens of expensive pedals.
Ok: I think I will buy Jamup Pro XT and Metal Expansion Pack, maybe the green muff
PS: How is the reverse delay?
The metal signature pack is the one I was mentioning, with the ola and Keith Merrow gear. I don't know either guy, but the amps and pedals in that pack are great.
Agreed on the Metal Pack. I don't play metal but it's got the best set of sounds.
Metal pack is awesome...great for a ton of styles...I really only use the tubescreamer....if I want heavier, I use the metal zone pedal...the others are ok, I guess but the rat doesn't ring true for me...however...for the money...it's one of the best apps...Overloud THM (available in Auria) is truly fantastic as well
