ChordPolyPad Updated w/ AUv3!

  • Nice, thanks Laurent, this is still the best chord app and even better now it's AU :)

  • A sale to celebrate? :)

I wouldn't count on a sale as his apps have never gone on sale. This isn't necessarily a bad thing because the app will never drop in price right after you paid full price for it.

  • And this time it is an update rather than a new app! Very cool. Thank you to the developer.

  • Wooow. What a day. Just woow.

  • Works well with StepPolyARP going into it.

  • Best day ever.

  • I love this app but never used it because of the inconvenience. I'm sure it will now be used in ever project. Thanks Dev!

  • Awesome news! Thank you Laurent..

  • Looks beautiful in AUv3 mode!
However seems there is a bug. Whenever I try to save the chord layout the plugin gets invalidated in AUM.

  • Yesssss....

  • I wish there were a performance mode where the selected pad automatically advanced when it was played.

  • Really pleased to see this - was waiting for this for quite a while. Tonality will be my go to now for this sorted of thing now though

Why? Not doubting, just not knowing. As a longtime CPP fan who will really enjoy it in NS2 when I figure it out (and if anyone can explain simply how that would be great!), what takes Tonality to the next step for you? Complexity or simplicity? :)

Yeah and then you completely lose your preset. As a current work around just make presets in stand alone. They load fine just can’t save.

Still pretty awesome though. Between SPAU, this and the buds apps, and Rozeta and Tonality, I think iOS is set on music theory engines.

  • I'm getting that save bug too. Takes some of the wind out of the sails, but hopefully it'll be fixed soon.

Tonality essentially offers a superset of everything CPP offers. Or at least it will when the @TonalityApp releases the new version, which I think is now very imminent. The ability to define banks of custom chords is there but it's the resizable Strum Bar that really sets it apart for me. You Strum or even finger pick chords as well as just triggering them in the same way you can in CPP. I know CPP has a Strum setting but Tonality is much more of a truly playable instrument

This is not on the individual AU’s but a bug in IOS 14. It will be fixed in 14.2 which hopefully will be out in the next weeks.

No this is a different bug for me, I’m on 13.7. But Laurent the developer has fixed it and will be updated within the next 24 hrs :)

The price actually went up with this update!

  • Save bug fixed. :)

That was fast. Not always the case on iOS. :#

    Gracias x2

  • I've been successfully using the new auv3 in AUM and Cubasis. Great app for firing up the music brain! There are so many workflows I have with sequences and single lines, so happy to have a chord reality to play with.

Does anyone know how/if this will work in Beatmaker or NS2. I seem to see MIDI information being sent in, but nothing gets sent out?

I don't use those apps but seem to remember they don't support MIDI FX? Tonality definitely works fine in hosts that do such as AUM, ZenBeats and Cubasis

As does CPP - works really well. Still a really good app

  • I had CPP from the start but ‘put it away’. As AU3 in Cubasis I’m renewing our acquaintance and it’s very fun.

However I’ve rediscovered that I can’t select multi pads and make changes to them all at once. Drives me mad...

    Am I missing something basic?
