It's great to have these sound design tools on iOS.
Drambo and miRack also have excellent physical modelling modules that can be used as AUv3.
Another great utility is a convolution reverb like Thafknar to model a multitude of chambers and resonators that can be easily recorded at home to add that creative, unique touch 😊
Great idea and video @richardyot
Yes Richard, sounds really good 👍
Just tried it out with the AAS app and agreed opens the sound right up.
Strong Muslimgauze vibes going on here. Nice.
Nice, thanks - you just sold it to me, though it was never going to take too much persuasion
Fugue Machine makes for an interesting driver & WOOTT flavours well
So what are peoples fav driver midi wise for Shaka?
Great idea!
I use atom, since with fugue machine I can note trigger all the pads that I want but I also enjoy it with digikeys last update.
Any other idea?
@richardyot
Excellent ear to find this!
Thanks! (and everyone else as well!).
Are you still liking it, a day later?
I've been waiting about seven years for a percussion sequencer on iOs, so yes. 🥁
All right, I'm diving in. I basically haven't bought a $5 coffee since March 13, so I can swing it.
What a great combination... the comment on the "percussion sequencer" got my attention.
I'll probably wait for a sale and put it on my Black Friday list since I can record loops with the
box of hand percussion I have lying around and save the $'s right now. I'm just trying to
have 1 controlled month this year and November will be another blow out I suspect.
@richardyot +plenty
Great method to widen the palette, this seems like a really interesting sequencer, but has anyone seen any indication that sample load or MIDI out is in the roadmap dot this one?
I'll be very surprised if this gets sample load Krupa, cos it is specifically designed for percussive sounds that start with a build rather than a heavy attack from the get go. Midi out, no idea. Email them and ask!
I might just do that, great point and good idea @Gavinski
Actually this looks like a fairly definitive answer...
Brilliant mixtures and a thorough yet concise video- cheers all around!
🙏
Good they got back to you at least 😋
Ah, it wasn’t me, I just thought I’d dig deeper before hassling them and turned that up on their Facebook...
Is there a way to hear the sequencers play without holding each key down?
In AUM you can enable the "hold" icon (infinity symbol) on the keyboard and the sequences will play without stopping. Another way would be to have a midi sequencer (NS2, Cubasis, Auria, AEM, Atom, LK, et al. just play one looped sustained note or notes.
Tonality and ChordPolyPad have 'latch pad' features. Just assign each pad to the midi note (or notes) of the corresponding Skaka track, latch it, and and voila. Drambo has a new latch module as well which should do the trick.
Here's a midi latch utility I made for Skaka users who own Drambo.

Let me know if it works well for any of you.
This is a proof of concept video, just showing the midi side of things. (disclaimer, I don't have Skaka, so that's why I demo'd with something else.)
Good to see - thanks!
