IDAM sample rates ... does anybody know?
This may have been asked before but....
I have an iPad Pro 9.7 and when using IDAM it defaults to 44.1kHz. There is no way to change this.
Can someone with a more recent model iPad (eg Air3/4 iPad Pro 2017 and onwards iPad 8 etc) tell me if the sample rate changes from this basic level? Or is 44.1kHz the standard for IDAM? I know that my pad is capable of running audio at higher rates as I can do this with my audio interface plugged in so just wondering if this is the default...thanks in advance for any feedback..
My issue is that when I am plugged in via IDAM then all the DAWs that I am using on the MacBook are then having to play at 44.1 kHz as well. I like to run at 48 kHz minimum when I can so I am just seeing if IDAM is the culprit or do I need to update my iPad at some stage....(not really looking for a reason to buy more stuff).

IDAM is 48k. Check the aggregate device settings on your Mac IIRC.
44.1KHz here. iPad Air 2 and iPhone 7s, iOS 13.7, 2015 MacBook Pro Catalina.
I don't think there's any way to change it.
I thought that might be the case. The aggregate settings in my world are 44.1 and that's all it allows. @BroCoast what model iPad are you using to have 48k show up?
Ok, my 9.7" Pro defaults to 44.1 while iphone SE defaults to 48...
So what Max said. 🙂
Thanks @wim @Max23 @BroCoast
So it is device related. I plugged in my iPhone 8 and it defaults to 44.1 too. Oh well. Good to know. Maybe I'll need to see if they'll plug in a pad to a laptop when I buy my next one to see what it does. It would be nice to have a list of this IDAM stuff. It's difficult to find the information through Apple. Or, I acquire another interface with ADAT ins and outs and then it doesn't really matter. Might be the better choice in the long run.
