From my experience, the only apps I have had trouble with is D1 and FM Player 2, which are written in their old codebase. This is really my main issue. I wish they would spend the time rewriting these instead of releasing more apps which they will need to keep updating, in turn just making more work long term and frustrating more customers.
The limited edition apps are a joy and I have had no problem with them. But I do not enjoy the constant delay when they say it'll be out on X day and it releases weeks later. I believe this happened with 808, but not exactly sure as that was when I was first getting into production, but the same happened with retro Piano and I feel like they released Audio tune at the same time to quell the loud typers on this forum.
I would much prefer they release the remaining limited edition apps like they did House Mark I. "Out of nowhere". This would reduce already existing frustrations and speculations.
In short, fix the problem apps that people have already paid for, release new apps on time or don't announce it. I don't mind the limited edition aspect. That right there creates enough buzz to sell the apps.

Forums tend to back everyone into opposing corners. It doesn't need to be that way though. I am an open-source advocate in my non-music life, I have supported AudioKit from the get go. I liked their energy, I like the open-source approach. They launched a couple of great sounding romplers!
So I'm in. I'm a customer. But the bugs need fixing for the apps to stay in use. And more than that, the marketing shifted. Became more gimmicky. Less authentic. So maybe some critical customer feedback will help them get back on track. Realise the dream, etc.
It doesn't make me a naysayer and it doesn't make me any less of a customer.
@gusgranite, it’s all in the virtual tone, you know😉
Ya, maybe! Their 'platinum AUv3' spin did irk me way more than it should have... OK, blame COVID!
@analog_matt I’m noticing an issue with Bass 808 as an AU in Cubasis 3. When I enable Bluetooth, the MIDI freaks out a bit. Notes will get skipped and I’ll inevitably get a stuck note that plays indefinitely. This is happening on my iPhone 11 and has happened on iOS 14 and 15.
You should report bugs via the Audiokit web site. I have the sense that they don't visit here any more.
Out of curiosity what MIDI bluetooth device are you sending from?
Ah okay I’ll do that.
I should have clarified. I’m sending audio out.
How limited can it be? Can't you just copy paste the code??
i didnt notice clicks before etc lol.
It clips even at low volume and even when not appearing to clip.
Thought new ipad were faulty but its the same on other ipad.
Shame it were my bass synth.
I know why it clips and didnt before.
Its a mono synth.
Using screen keyboard. Keys were just cutting the other.
Bass 808 seems to have vanished from my Auv3 list, to be replaced with Retro Piano (which really confused me in a Drambo project I loaded this lunchtime)! Where has it gone? Is it still on anyone else's list? And if not, why has it disappeared out of nowhere for seemingly no reason?!
Yeah, I don’t show it listed under AudioKit ( space mushrooms ) but type in 808 and she shows up.
@ejacul337 and @Michael_R_Grant
It's because the owner / developer changed. It was bought by the same company that purchased AudioBus. It now also has trackers that allow them to share your (anonymous) usage data with 3rd party web sites and apps. Just fyi.
Retro Piano, VHS Synth, Digitalism, Digital D1, and FM Player 2 were also bought by them. Most, or all, now have trackers added as well.
Audiobus has recently gone subscription. It will be interesting to see if the others follow.
Tracking can supposedly be disabled if, when opening in standalone, the app presents a dialog requesting permission. You can also go to your device settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking and disable tracking globally and per app. I assume this works to defeat trackers, but haven't fully verified that.
Hmmmm. I don't want to be drama queen and I know all these apps were cheap BUT it'll really put me off buying future AudioKit releases![:/ :/](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/confused.png)
Important: These aren't AudioKit owned apps any more, and the original developer, AudioKit Pro, has no control over them. They're apps purchased by the developer Audiobus Pty Ltd, who also acquired the Audiobus app.
Please don't confuse this company with AudioKit Pro, who retains most "AudioKit" apps and publishes their own apps that have no such tracking or subscriptions.
(btw, AudioKit.io makes development libraries that any developer, scrupulous or not, can use to aid audio app development. They don't actually publish iOS apps. It gets confusing because of all the ambiguous terminology and branding.)
I'm still 'concerned' (1st world problems!) that other AudioKit Pro apps could be pensioned off early.
I know iOS is the wrong platform for this but I just want a bit of stability. I guess what I'm saying is I'd rather just pay more in the first place to know an app will be still being supported 5 years down the line.
Now where's that incoming synth Analog Matt mentioned a few months ago?
Despite the answers, I’m still confused at how Bass 808 has disappeared from my AUv3 list, when the other apps that have new owners are still there.
I’ve had this happen with Retro Piano. Opening it standalone showed some Continue button or similar, after which it reappeared in the AUv3 list.
I opened Bass 808 standalone and there was some kind of pop-up (I think it was a tracking one or something!), but it hasn't reappeared in my list. Maybe I should try again.
Is Bass 808 showing up in anyone's AUv3 list?
Mine is here - loading up and playing in AUM on an Air4 18.1.1
I’ve deleted so can’t screenshot but it was last listed in AUM under the company name “Space Mushrooms” and not Audiobus pty ltd
Both 808 and VHS Synth show up as expected.
Not to belabor the point, but the business relationships don't point to that. AudioKit was sort of a hybrid company that made the (free) AudioKit libraries, made some apps themselves, and published apps made by others using the AudioKit libraries. We've seen what happened to the ones sold to Audiobus Pty. I believe the rest are
I don't think the business relationships as I understand them now support that fear. I think those Analog Matt has saved from their fate, and future apps that he publishes will be taken care of.
I'd be more concerned with keeping an eye out for any apps Audiobus Pty may acquire, whether AudioKit apps or not. If that happens, I'd immediately back them up with iMazing before they get problematic updates.
So weird. Maybe I'll delete and reinstall, see if that helps.
