Searching for Hangdrum, but velocity sensitive
Just got the Oval Synth App, it has everything I want from a digital hangdrum simulator ;-) - great sound!
But one thing not: it‘s not velocity sensitive... (Garageband shows that it is possible)
Do you know an app that can be played more realistic?
Comments
I always wanted to have a good hang / pan drum sound too and when I have more time, I'll try two options:
1. Sampling one with enough different playing expressions
2. Building a physically modeled one in Drambo.
Both should not be too difficult, just a matter of time.
Would it be possible to use blue mangoo velocity filter to force it to be velocity sensitive?
Try an app called Orphion. I use Thumbjams hang instrument sent via midi to Orphion. There are also templates within Orphion that you can customise for different scales etc. Orphion is a great app, surprised it’s not mentioned more on the forum.
Drums Live - Midi Drums has a hang drum which is not velocity sensitive if you play it on screen, but you can play it via midi from, say, Orphion, in which case it is. You just have to set up a matching playing surface in Orphion and tune each circle to the right note.
Thank you all!! it‘s more about a sensitive Controller, so Orphion Looks interesting until I can afford a real one.
BTW, can you suggest a good (and cheap...) VST (Reason 10 compatible) with such sounds?
The controller is a good point. I've thought about using the Arturia Beatstep because it has two rows of 8 velocity sensitive pads, and I'll have to try controlling my desktop sample lib with it.

Sorry, I forgot to say that I am on a Mac...
Build your own from these free samples:

This is the result I got with Orphion and Drums Live - Midi Drums.
+1

and I also think layouts are very useful
and there is also iphone version for 0.99

Man, I need to really learn this app. It is just a hurdle to get over the time needed to be invested. I absolutely know it has to be possible in Drambo, at least to the degree that the sound is modelable as a synthesized sound.
Drambo is just the toolbox. I'm spending much more time reading and thinking about what I need to do than working inside Drambo to realize it.
Here's a good paper about modeling a pan drum:

@Pummelfee Here's one for you: https://vst4free.com/plugin/3181/ 😊
Thumbjam would be great with new sound packs like he added recently to DrumJam.

This (maybe) could be used as a Thumb-Hangdrum...
