Cubasis 3 - how to replace audio from media bay / replace wav from pool audio
Hi, imagine you need to resample & update some 44.1KHz stems. Cubasis 3 converts to 48KHz and audio must be imported into the project from media bay. Now I have updated & renamed the audio files in Cubasis 3 folder using Files app. But the change is not reflected inside the project.
So it is not able to update wav stems externally from PC after they have been laid out in Cubasis 3 project (iPad) ?
Comments
You could try modifying the files that are inside the projects folder in the Cubasis folder.
As long as the filenames are kept the same the project should find them.
By dedault everything that is imported to a project from the MediaBay is ‘copied’ to the project folder.(ie. no links or file-references are used).
Too bad the Media Bay has no option to show all the files in the current project (or inside any other project for that matter) which would make replacing and re-using files a bit easier.
Improved file and project management has been on the todo-list for a very, very long time...
Cheers!
Yes, you're right. Apart from Mixdown folder and Audio folder there is Projects folder and it contains audio files as well. So I guess that will be the one Cubasis convert to 48Khz upon import from Media Bay.
This is the life situation when you realize that the last export is missing some plugin or some levels not right and you want to make it better after laying down the structure and volume automation on iPad. It's like dependency hell.
You can set project to 44.1 if you don’t want to convert your 44.1 files.
But only if the device permits it! On devices that are hardware locked to 48K you can not even select 44.1 in Cubasis!
In order to be able to select 44.1K in Cubasis one needs to connect an external audio interface...
Oh yeah... 44.1 device here 🤪
