Do I have to reset the pitch bend controls every time I switch presets or reopen the app in AUM like I am forced to do with NeoSoulKeys? Only thing that could make me need this I think...
Thanks for chiming in @Samu much appreciated.
Picked it up. Loving the sounds. Really simple interface and easy to dial in keys.
Yea that cpu throttle thing is tricky and there is no line in the sand, at least that I know of, that tells you when you engage the full processing power...
Same. Although they aren't without issues, as discussed in many threads, somehow I still feel the need to buy them to support the devs, and in this case Henny and his mission w/ Morehouse.
@Gavinski : re CPU see https://wiki.audiob.us/doku.php?id=cpu_load_comparisons_and_testing
@Gavinski - not trying to derail, but Neo-Soul Keys Studio is definitely worth having. Quite a range of great sounds from dirty to very clean.
That was a great and inspiring video.
Bought it because I like to support Audiokit as I like the idea, but, I don't see me using this one much, quite a disappointment to be honest. A bit like that Vintage(?) Piano that was free when released.
Thanks for the vid ! ill prob grab it. I use apesoft's already, but this one does sound nice as well.
@Daveypoo will want to add this to his collection, I’m sure. I wonder if he will agree that it has a somewhat unique sound, I think so. At four bucks it’s a good deal.
Bought it. I have no other EP's, I'm starting to get into this vibe and back into playing keys. So sounds about right to me.
The thing that struck me most about playing it was the top velocity layer, especially around the centre of the keyboard, has that distinct bell like bright timbre (I'm sure there's a name for it). Lower velocitys that smooth more muted timbre. As a complete noob to playing the Rhodes is this sharp transition typical or is this a case of trying to shoehorn in a lot of sounds into a limited number of layers? Just curious, if anything it's good discipline enforcing having to pay special attention to how hard those keys are going down. There's some nice grooves bouncing between those two sides of the instrument.
Tempted to get NSKS2 when it next goes in sale.
From the webpage: "Proceeds from this app benefit the Music Unit of the Creative and Performing Arts Division at Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA, inspiring the next generation of musicians, artists and coders."
I'm down with that! Sounds like they were pretty involved with sampling and creating the app. Bought to help support.
Yep, bought it. First impressions are "meh" but I've hardly dug in at all.
Not exactly what Neo Soulekeys or Korg Module offers, but at a fraktion of the price. It has certainly nice sounds. The velocity layering is a bit odd and I think it sounds somehow muted. But no regrets here. I like the Audiokit aproach and love synth ONE (I would rate it #1 on the iPad, because it is such a great synth for FREE) I think they are cronically underfunded and can use every penny.
I gave in. While it sounds very nice, it seems a bit limited and doesn't get any bark except at the very highest velocities. From my brief run through presets and knob twiddles, I didn't hear anything that makes this a must buy in terms of sound. I'm happy to support Audiokit and the cost of this was minimal, so yeah - fine.
I would gladly pay $20 for an AUV3 of SynthOne - wish they would focus their efforts on that.
Is this another LE? I grabbed it. I will use apesoft but audiokit is a nice gang and I support them with these little price points and for the sake of collect them all
Anyone else get very duff sounds at A2 - B2?
I got this playing on the aum keyboard but not when using midi in or an external keyboard. Weird. Noticed this after the vid was done, I didn't try AUM keyboard prior to that. I've informed matt, but if others notice it they should contact AudioKit too
Anyone get the MIDI mapping to work? Only tried master volume but no luck.
I sent midi lfos to control tremolo rate in my vid, no probs
I think this is the first AudioKit app I've hesitate to buy. I'll probably end up buying just to support the development, but it doesn't sound like I'm missing much here since I have NSK 1 & 2.
Bass808 is still very good and used by me often, but I rarely use any of the others these days.
Worked for me, standalone. Just tap MIDI Assign, then the highlighted Master Volume, move the hardware control and done. If it's not seeing the CC, you might need to check MIDI in Settings, in case it's not listening on the channel.
Aha, yes it works in standalone. Still can't get MIDI assign to work in AUM but no big deal, can always be assigned through the host. Not much I'd want to map anyway, it's not really one for the tweaking.

That's me! w00t!
Nice! Send me a reply on youtube and an email 👍
Same thing for me. I just bought it and this lack of progression between the 3 low and the top velocity layers is really bugging me.
Using velocity layers is one thing, but applying proper additional filtering and interpolation is still of highest importance when you can’t afford 20+ velocity layers.
The impossibility to add some brightness is also for me a real concern as all this sounds quite soft (except the top layer, but...).
Sorry to say that but I was way more pleased playing Korg Module Scarbee (trial) or GarageBand EP. So quite a disappointment for me...
Yes, it is excellent
Yeh, that's the only thing that I don't like - that sudden jump. I imagine it's better with an external keyboard than on an on-screen keyboard where the vertical axis is velocity. One finger out of place and wham. It's hard to play very musically for me.
That's unfortunate because I like it in all other ways.
