Questions about those little stemless wireless earbuds

I’m writing an article about the possibility of Apple making the next AirPods Pro without stems. I guess that would make them like those little buttons that Samsung and others make.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-10-26/apple-developing-smaller-airpods-pro-revamped-entry-level-model

Has anyone used any of these little button things? I’d like to know if you like them, why, and/or whether they’re awkward to get into your earholes.

Any answers would be super appreciated. Up against a deadline, as usual!

  • I’ve used Rowkin for a while, they seemed to be the “first” on truly wireless and stemless. I really liked their first design, which was a true earbud, as they’ve ventured into the stemmed arena now. Pretty comfortable, has a mic incorporated which worked about as well as the AirPods. I use them for when I exercise now, though if I’m doing any sort of jumping they sometimes fall out.

  • @mjcouche Is it easy to get them in? And how is the Bluetooth range?

  • @mistercharlie Very easy to get them in. They iterated a few times since I got mine, so I’d bet it’s even better. The range is less than the AirPods I have, but I also bought the Rowkin in 2016. I don’t remember the official supported range but I can usually be a room away from my device, anywhere from 15-20ft.
