Virsyn BandDelay Walkthrough Video - A very unique and underrated delay! (winners announced)

Virsyn BandDelay Walkthrough Video - 5 FREE copies to give away!

This is, I think, a very special and underrated delay. It isn’t your average bread and butter delay, but it can be quite magical on the right sounds. If watching in the first 2 days of release of this video, you have a chance to win one of 5 copies of this app. Details are in the pinned comment at the top of the YouTube comments section.

App Store Description:
The multi-band delay BandDelay is an exciting tool for sound design and loop manipulation in realtime. In contrast to common delay processors BandDelay splits the frequency spectrum of the input signal into 27 bands and applies a separate delay unit to each band. The delay times can be synchronised to the host tempo generating nearly infinite rhythmical and sonic variations of the input signal. For each of the delay bands you can specify the delay time, the level and the feedback amount separately. These parameter changes can even be automised in realtime for glitch free rhythmical morphings. A few high level parameters let you change the delay times and feedbacks of all delays with the turn of a single knob.

If you enjoy this and find it useful, please help me out folks by remembering to give it a thumbs-up, cheers!

  • Great to see a video of this. Virsyn's fx are under-rated. Tape Echo is another good one.

  • Yeah, I can't believe how small the release thread for this here in the forum was!

I think u mean 'tap delay' BTW! 😂

  • Under rated effect - you're right that it needs the right source to really shine!

A lot of underrated fx are like that I think. Classic Fx is in the same boat, you need to spend time finding out what sounds good with the various algorithms

How about BandShift? Curious about it. BandDelay looks great!

I probably have it, but I don't think I've used it as much others.

  • Hmmmmmm. This one slipped buy. Very nice. Thanks @Gavinski !!

  • Just bought this (BandDelay) as well as BandShift and Harmony Eight. Really impressed with all of them; lots and lots of possibilities.

  • I was excited about Band Delay and just bought it on sale however it doesn’t load up as an auv3 in Cubasis nor NanoStudio. It just brings up a loading error :(

A number of Harry’s apps have had updates in the last few days to fix problems with them and devices running iOS 18+ so i imagine he’s having to do all of them? @VirSyn?

Are you running iOS 18+ @Cambler? If so, presumably a fix will come soon hopefully. I’m not updated to iOS 18 yet and it’s still working for me so far.

Thanks @Robin2 thats great news. Yes I’m on 18 so that will be the issue.

Interesting. So this issue does not seem to be limited to the AddStation app. I guess the update affected more than a few plugins.

No problem - I’m only guessing that’s the issue but it seems likely given the other updates. Hopefully Harry’s aware of the problem.

@Cambler, BandDelay got an update yesterday - has it fixed the problem you had?

It sure has. The only thing now is that it is not coming up as an option for my M1 desktop. All the other Virsyn apps seems to be Apple Silicon compatible however this one does not show in my App Store lists on the Mac.

Cool, glad to hear it. I have no experience of app desktop compatibility so I’ve no idea about that - maybe contact Harry via the Virsyn website?

Thanks. Yes I sent an email to Harry to see about the desktop compatibility. Hoping it’ll work as it makes transferring projects to desktop so much more flexible instead of having the render/bounce.
