Roland JV-1080 or Jupiter 8 in iOS ?
Hi ! Looking for emulator of these synths ...... any ideas which app can get closer to this sounds ?
Can't get Zenbeats here in my country ..... so, no option (idk if that had some Roland AU instruments or sth like that)
Any help would be nice
Comments
I was looking that Poison 202 and Audiokit D1 are in offer at $4.99USD ..... i guess between one of both could help ?
P-202 is essential.
@raimundoarriagada,
D1 is rather a D50-ish synth not the jv1080
For jupiter 8 I would give Syntronik a try. There’s an IAP in it called J-8 which is the Jupiter 8.
You can have one month free trial of all the synths or you can buy only the J-8 IAP. The full package is quite expensive
I think Sunrizer is supposed to be based off the Jupiter
@Fingolfinzzz I think it's the JP-8000/8080 (virtual analog) instead of the Jup-8, that's why it has supersaw oscillators
JV-1080 is the one synth that I miss most on iOS as well. So many incredible, innovative, interesting AND useful sounds (with so little hardware capability, often achieved with creative use of the internal effects etc.)... the Roland Sound Canvas app has a few sounds that are very close to some of the JV-1080's, but it's essentially been abandonware forever.
EvolverFX is best rompler equivalent or Pure Synth Platinum.
If I recall correctly the JV-1080 was able to do ring-modulation or 'boosting' between to partials that added to it's sonic flexibility.
None of the 'romplers' we have on iOS is able to do even a simple thing like that which makes me a bit sad.
The only thing Roland might spit out for the iPad is the ZC-1 AUv3 from ZenBeats with some added editing capabilities.
(It would simply just crush all the other iOS romplers period).
Cheers!
I didn't know that -- the only similar hardware synth where I really dived deep into editing was the Yamaha SY-85... it also had patches (called "Voices") made up of partials, but then could again combine several of THOSE to create "Performances" which I mostly miss for the incredibly thick pads...
Yeah I also think that iOS now has 73926292692 "analog" synths, but from what I can see not a single actually good Rompler like the JV series or a decent Multi-FX (with useful patches) like the Lexicon MPX-1 or Alesis Quadraverb 2 or whatever.
But I'm not that well informed really.
Yeah, i'm still tempted by Roland Sound Canvas but feeling that $19.99 is a bit too much for the app. Even that i love that PSOne JRPG sounds !
Thanks everyone for the answers
like a lot this community.
I guess i will go for both and check them out.
This album is about the 2080. Love the crystalness.
Syntronik has jupiter 8
One of my favorite Legowelt albums.
Volt is on sale. I just bought it and it sounds incredible for those classic poly type sounds.
