Colossus Piano Gain Staging In AUM

Hello Crowd! I hope everybody's well!
I'm switching slowly to AUv3, step by step, and I noticed, that Colossus Piano is way louder than other pianos (as the Audio Unit of course). AUM has a build-in plugin called Dynamics, so I'm using this to attenuate the level. Is this the correct way in this inconvenience?
I'm checking levels using the lower edge on AUM's internal keyboard (it gives the full velocity), and measure channel level output. For example, the difference between NeoSoulKeysStudio2 is ca 6-7 dB. This gives a strongly distorted sound. Anybody noticed a similar situation after conversing from IAA to AUv3?

  • Is there a reason you need to use the Dynamics node rather than just lowering the channel fader?

I'm thinking about that. The main reason is my external controller-mixer with all faders on the same null position (after long work with patches in other programs). There are no controls in Colossus. Thanks for the response.

Yes, the Gain node/plugin from the Dynamics group is what you want.
