Has anyone tried the Neova ring Midi controller?

This interesting Midi controller is now ready to purchase.
Youtube comments are deactivated which makes me somewhat suspicious.

Curious if anyone got to try it yet.

  • Oh no, not another one!!! ...and the price tag, woah!

Whatever you do, don’t tell these guys!

  • The Genki Wave is half the price and I can recommend.

@lukesleepwalker True. But Neova is a completely different controller. It's linked to the keys or pads you play. You can both play the keyboard and control cc's with the same hand and on the same instrument. As Genki Wave is more like a left hand type of controller, one hand triggers notes, the other hands modulate "in the air". Hope that makes sense. If not, try this demo vid:

  • I think it’s intended to be primarily birth control, never tried it as a midi controller.

Hmmm, I could be missing something but I can do exactly what is shown in this video with a Genki Wave. It's very easy to set it up with the right tolerances using the Softwave application. I suspect that Genki should do a video to show how it can be used in more traditional applications as the one shown in this video--I do think they tilted more toward the "air playing" performance art angle in their videos.

  • @lukesleepwalker The Genki Wave looks interesting. If I got one I think I would use it for head movements rather than finger motion since my hands would be too busy playing other things. Somehow mount a short dowel horizontally on top of a pair of headphones and put the ring on the dowel. Do you think this could work?

Yep, although I'm not liable for any whiplash injuries you sustain.
