    Quickest and easiest way is to train your ear. It’s a musical super-power.

  • Yea my ear is getting there but I sometimes use sEGments, which shows root note. If it’s a 1 shot I loop and hold a tuner from my iPhone. I also have key finder app, mentioned in video

  • You just do it. Figure out the root note then the other notes that work with it. I cannot explain it any better than that. You’re best off learning to just do it over time.

  • Any given loop will usually sound good in at least several keys. A key-finder app will just give you the most basic, vanilla solution. Experiment and trust your own ear to tell you which one sounds best.

  • I like to have the sample play and then just bring up a piano and go up the notes until they both sound the same. The ear is your greatest tool.
