Our EP probably wouldn’t sound the same without iOS-musicmaking
Hi guys,
I found this forum only some time ago, when I started to make music more and more with iOS in spring. Since then I read along with interest and learned a lot. Thanks for this great forum and this great exchange.
During the German Covid-19-lockdown in spring 2020 I teamed up again with a longtime fellow producer. We started exchanging musical ideas and audiofiles and now released a first EP. A instrumental mixture of alternative, electronic, trip-hop, ambient…

Hardware-wise we used a Yamaha ModX, a MPC 1000, a MIDI-keyboard and some guitars. All other sounds and all sequencing were done completely on my iPad 2018. Apps used were for example Cubasis 3, GarageBand, Model D, Zeeon, SpaceCraft, SynthOne, tardigrain, Koala Sampler, ShimmerFX, Fugue Machine and Matrix Vocoder.
The intuitive controls via touchscreen got me to automate a lot more than I usually did, when working in my old Cubase on Mac. I would even go so far to say, that the EP wouldn’t sound the same when we would have made it without the iOS-apps.
Maybe nothing new to you guys—but for me an interesting learning. I would love to here, what you think of the music and how iOS musicmaking influences yours!

Very well done. Cries for a vocal on top.
This is great stuff!!!!
Thank you, glad you like it. We are also very happy with how it turned out.
@LinearLineman Which track—if I might ask—Lovers of the 80s or another?
Lovers of the 80s.
Noted, if we stumble upon a singer with an 80s vibe, that could make a great remix.
If you are interested: Our EP is now also available on Spotify, Apple Music, and the other relevant streaming services.
Nice, the iOs ride will only get more and more pleasing...
You're right, since I also started using AUM in the meantime, I can only confirm that. A terrific tool for jamming Especially with Enso‘s tape loop like features. I’m also interested in testing Gauss Field Looper.
Might be great for those more experimental and ambient songs, I think?!
