Drambo app + Waves Extension IAP giveaway!
There’s a new Drambo update and with it comes exciting news of the first IAP...a wavetable oscillator and accompanying wave effects and wave filter. This IAP bundle will be expanded in the future with new modules and features.
To celebrate @giku_beepstreet has graciously given me some codes for both the app and IAP.
In the spirit of Drambo, I thought it would be fun to do some sharing.
For the waves extension codes (4): share something you’ve created in Drambo on Patchstorage. It can be an effect, synth instrument, a project...anything! In a day or so, I’ll randomly select 4 patchstorage submitters to get waves extension codes.
https://patchstorage.com/platform/drambo/
If you don’t own Drambo yet...post here and share a synth or effect you’d like to try and recreate if you had the app. Same thing; I’ll randomly select 3 of the posters (I’m gifting a buddy Drambo with one of the app codes).
Have fun and look forward to hearing from you all!

If I had Drambo...
... then I’d beat it with ma bopPad, make a patch sound better than when I hit on a NordDrum (Drambo’s physically modelled module with that resonator module I’ve heard and dig)
... experience what a elektron style sequencing p-lock efx cross fader action feels like!
... maybe map It out with sysex and StreamByter with faders and sends on a launchpad mk3 in session mode so I can jam out with Drambo as my AU mixer.
... and as I’ve heard you can do anything in Drambo, I would like to build a perpetual infinite energy machine, and save the world.
Sounds good? YesWay! YesPlease. 🤩
I really like this idea because even if you don’t win a code, everyone one wins by having some newly created patches, audio/midi effects etc... on Patchstorage. Cheers, great idea.
I’ve had Drambo since day one but haven’t spent too much time with it, hopefully I can put something together so I have a chance at winning the IAP.
If I had Drambo I'd like to:
A- turn my guitar into all sorts of non-pitched percussive sounds
B- build a kind of optigan with user created tracks
C- build something like Werkbench which I really like but requires too much routing via AUM and Audiobus to make me happy.
B and C are likely beyond my capabilities
Something I was messing about with this afternoon after a discussion here, as an attempt to see if I like the principle of an effect enough to perhaps buy the actual plugin... this is well rough and tacky in comparison to what I’m emulating

This sounds like fun, and it’s good motivation to finish some of my patches. Perhaps it’s not fully cooked but here you go. It’s an LFO note (or sequence) generator.
https://patchstorage.com/lfo-note-generator/
An implementation of a classic modular technique for producing cyclic melodic patterns using two synced LFOs and S&H (as described in the Muffwigler’s The Book of Bad Ideas V.2 @1.22).
The patch offers three ways of mixing the LFOs (add, mix with amplitude control for each one, and Linear frequency modulation). The combined wave can be later folded for more asymmetrical patterns and mixed with a third unsynced LFO for regular variation, and with a random generator for randomized variation. Range and Register adjust amplitude and offset for finer control of the resulting melody. A gate-velocity sequencer activates a S&H to obtain a pitch value for each note (set to 16ths). The quantizer section has three options: off, quantize, and switch between two different scales; the rate of switching can be adjusted and is by default synced to the main clock. The MIDI section contains a MIDI chance and humanizer.
The idea is to provide aleatory melodic patterns that can repeat cyclically, vary progressively, or be completely randomized, that is, from completely predictable to fully unpredictable.
@dvi Just on my phone now but it crashes every time I try to load it from the midi racks.
Oh that’s strange. It’s my first upload so I might have done something wrong. I’ve just updated it and tested it, and it works well. If you can, please let me know if it works! And thanks for checking it out!
The first number to check is the version number. Did you try on the latest Drambo version?
I agree. I've had numerous modular synths on desktop and iOS (well, let's not talk about my old hardware modular 😅) and Drambo is by far the quickest and most approachable for me. miRack is great as well and it has a respectable number of fairly deep and complex modules but it usually requires a lot of thinking, looking and patching to get what I really want.
In Drambo you just throw modules on a track, change or add a few cable connections, tweak a few knobs and that's it. It's just much more fun.
If you struggle with anything, feel free to ask here in the forum. We now have quite a number of knowledgeable and helpful Drambonians here 😄
Great idea, no crash for me
Sorry I did not update my phone. The patch works fine.... sorry. Thanks!!!
Good to know! Yes, I'm on the latest version of drambo, but I don't believe it uses any of the newer modules. Is backwards (in)compatibility a known bug, @giku_beepstreet?
The current Drambo version should always be backward compatible. If you encounter issues loading an older project or preset file in the latest version then yes, please contact @giku_beepstreet.
I can share a preset I often use with a clean or light crunch guitar sound : https://patchstorage.com/3-movmodspacedly/
Nothing really complicated, but I like it a lot 😁
I sometimes add a reverb outside of Drambo and from time to time a little bit of saturation with Saturn in Auria.
Alright, I’m gonna call it!
Thanks all for posting
Gratoulli, dvi, Krupa got codes for the Waves Extension, and ehehehe, simonSomeone, and Jolly Dodger got the app.
AMAZING!
Thanks @giku_beepstreet for supporting me and this giveaway!
Wow, thanks so much! Looking forward to trying the wavetable stuff and the patches shared by the others!
Nice one @bcrichards i should dig out some more bits I’ve made and package them up, mostly simple / mental but one man’s garbage is another’s treasure...
Thank you @bcrichards 😃🙏!
I do have Drambo and I have never used it but this thread has made me blow the dust off it , fire up SfMs YT channel and buy Waves too. Why have I spent another fiver on it when I haven't made a single thing on it? Well, it feels like this is an important app. Not only because of how it is lauded but because even someone with my miniscule knowledge and experience on mobile can see that it is next level.
I have also recently got Serum, so that was the only word I saw in the blurb and I thought "ooooooh."
Also, it feels important to support this app. To be able to say that I was there. Daft, I know.
.
Ah well too lttp
