BLEASS Compressor AUv3 Plugin by BLEASS

Description:
BLEASS Compressor is a comprehensive compression tool for iOS musicians offering external sidechain input, input filters and real-time visualization with very low CPU usage. Set your compression threshold and ratio with the swipe of a finger on a clear and fluid interface!
Its compression algorithm is highly precise and optimized, thus offering a low DSP load and very few artefacts and harmonics in the sound for a reliable, transparent compression.
This compression tool has been made for all musicians using BLEASS know-how which aims at bringing clarity, stability and musicality to your creative sound design process.
BLEASS Compressor is composed of 3 stages:
INPUT STAGE:
Source filters: high pass and low pass filter with frequency values
Sidechain ON/OFF (Audio Unit Multi-bus input/output compatible hosts such as AUM or apeMatrix is required)
Gain
Listen (to source audio, or sidechain input if sidechain mode is ON)
COMPRESSION STAGE:
Attack (up to 800ms)
Release (up to 2000ms)
Look Ahead: 0 / 2 / 5ms
Source meter
Compressor view: Visualize the Input Signal and Gain Reduction Meter in real time and use a finger to set Threshold and Ratio in an interactive 2D view completed by 3 precise sliders.
Customizable Knee
Gain Reduction Meter
OUTPUT STAGE:
Output Meter
Make Up with 3 modes: Off, Passive and Active (for dynamic leveling)Output Gain
Dry/Wet
BLEASS Compressor is intended to be used with a AUv3 compatible host such as Cubasis, Auria, GarageBand or BM3 but we recommend using hosts such as AUM or apeMatrix to use the External Sidechain feature which can be used within Multibus Audio Routing compatible Apps.
Side-chain or Sidechaining allows you to apply a certain compression amount controlled by the input signal of another audio track. To use sidechaining in AUM or apeMatrix, activate SIDECHAIN mode and insert a Multi-Bus Audio Unit Instance on the track you want to use as audio signal input control, which you can monitor with the LISTEN Button.
Then you can filter the Input Signal to choose the frequencies that will trigger the compression algorithm.

This one I will get for sure even though Roughrider 2 is my current favorite...
...will be nice to see how it compares. I do feel that I'm looking at a new favorite compressor
Bought. Love BLEASS apps. Thanks so much @White
After a quick play thru with the Bleass Compressor I still prefer the 'crushing' capability of RoughRider 2...
...let's see if it grows on me over time
I can’t figure out Roughrider’s metering!. I need metering in my compressor, I just do. “Trust your ears”, well I don’t. This BLEASS compressor looks like it has a very clear an comprehensive metering.
In Roughrider 2 the 'white line graph' is the gain reduction and the other is input level, but yeah but most of the time I do compression by ear anyway (Too much focus on numbers can drive me nuts which is weird since I love total control)
If I need more precision I have the FF Pro-C 2 and Toneboosters Compressor to boot so I'm not out of compression options.
And well, for metering I wish the 'bar meters' in BLEASS Compressor had numerical indication as well...
...sure it may eat a few CPU cycles but it's worth it...
Just happy when everyone finds tools for their needs, taste and preference will always vary.
Cheers!
Love the intro video:
I think maybe you’re talking about roughrider 3?
That video is epic
Gain reduction goes down not up!. That’s evil.
It's excellent for sidechaning, so convenient, worth picking up folks
Yep - sidechaining is simple and effective - even I can get my head around it...!
>
It goes down considering that the ceiling is at top of the screen and level 'drops down' that is what the white line draws, it draws' top->down. When there is no white line no reduction is done.
The reduction-graph is drawn similarly in Logic Pro X...
Never really worked SC out. How is it done on iOS?
I’ll definitely be grabbing this. Bleass apps are stunning and you can never have too many good compressors. Is it the kind of compressor that contributes to your “tone” like roughrider 3 or more transparent like the blue Mangoo Multiband?
I'm sure someone will make a video showing it with this soon. It's hard to describe but easy to get if u see a video. I was going to make one, I'm too busy unfortunately, too many new apps recently.
😂😂😂so true
Gess I meant RoughRider3 I can’t make sense of it.
I guess the white “mass” is gain reduction, but it goes way down, I don’t find it helpful.
Just bought BLEASS compressor. Lovely UI, and great price. I’m sure it sounds good too. Good one!
Only $2.99
I do believe haq has one but I’m too lazy to search YouTube right now.
I like the X/Y pad.
Great compressor for extreme transient shaping.
That makes 20 AuV3 compressors in the collection.
A simple example:
It requires two app capabilities:
1. A compressor with a Side Chain input
2. A facility to route audio from a different instrument (or track or audio channel) to that side chain input.
Audio coming in on the SC input will control the compressor gain reduction just like the compressor's main audio input but the SC signal itself won't be heard at the output. Can be used for "ducking" the main signal with each bass drum hit for example.
That’s a clear, concise description. Thanks.
A great side chain ! And a very good app to understand compression.
Thank you. Will have a look at it in more detail.
I hate to sound spoilt but we have quite a few straight up compressors on iOS now. Does this one take us into different sound territory?
I’m curious about this is well. Is this enough to be a master strip compressor?
Same, but if it is easier to SC then that is something worth investigating. Will have to check out a tute to see if it looks easier or makes more sense than what I already have.
What DAW do you use?
I shot it out against the compressors in my iOS toolbox (FF C2/Korvpressor) and decided it did not add anything for me. That being said the ones I put it up against are many x more expensive so for the price it’s a great deal and sounds real good. Being nit picky but it doesn’t tell you how many dBs of gain reduction is occurring just has that bar...
Cubasis when working on a project. AUM for faffing around.
