Geovishnu Orchestra

with apologies to one of the greatest bands ever...
Have acquired Rock Drummer and Piano Motifs in the last couple of weeks so thought I would give them an airing.
Drums are obviously Rock Drummer. Never really done drums so not sure if it’s on beat, off beat or a beat for a different tune altogether!
All the backing is Piano Motifs
Geoshred glass for all leads.

  • I liked that. Bring up the backing a bit relative to the lead parts and you have a winner. :)

  • Wow... the GeoViolin really jumps out of the track as something new for IOS.
It's convincing along with the piano which we've had for sometime. The synths
and drums we've also had for a while.

I'd love to hear a SWAM GeoViolin modeled on a great tone player like Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Hopefully, enough product is moved to get @moforte and SWAM working on more instruments: brass and guitar(s).

For anyone that likes playing solo lines the GeoShred instruments are the best option for expressive playing and for editing vibrato, EQ, FX and MIDI control.

Maybe ThumbJam will update with AUv3 support and a whole new array of instruments.
They are my #2 for expressive instruments but the IAA tax is too great a penalty to make me reach for it except when I have no other choice. With GeoOboe, I'll rarely need it except for some of the brass... but my #3 choices : FretLess (Bass, Brass, etc) usually get those gigs because they have AUv3 but a tricky User Interface based on a fretless string layout which
I suppose could be worth learning/mastering.

    Keep these Geo---- creations coming!

  • Thanks @TheOriginalPaulB , point taken. I have not got into the habit of recording the separate channels in AUM so when I get a good recording of a solo I tend to go for it but then can’t do anything about the levels.
Cheers @McD , I ran the GeoViolin through Nembrini Analog Rack Chorus to get a bit more bite and then through TB Reverb.

There are Chorus, Reverb, Delay and EQ stomp boxes in the GeoShred app that can probably save you some CPU cycles. SWAM instruments are greedy and I can see that you
like to run more than one to get Polyphony sometimes so it might be worth considering making your own presets for more bite and reverb.

Then we can share the wealth... maybe set up a PatchStorage "GeoShred" project. I'll look into that.

  • Good glassing!

Animoog and TC-11 should also be on your list.

True. TC-Data is also a lot of fun driving other apps using MIDI.
