VIDEO: one click, fade-in fade-out

Hey guys,

When I post a video on my twitter or youtube I prepare the videos most of the time with LumaFusion but the Fade in and Fade out is a pain to accomplish there. I was wondering if you know about an app that will easily provide a fade in and fade out to a video (fading from black to video and from silence to song). Preferably on tap/click ;)
Thanks for your insights!

  • @david_2017 I was having same issue..... used the great internets to try and find a transition to no avail.... so I exported and did the fades in iMovie.

iMovie is a solution but a PITA solution.
There must bb „an app for that“ somehow 😳 fingers crossed someone with a good recommendation is showing up here

I know. I actually was having another issue with Luma where I reached out to there tech support. They have been helpful.. and I asked. Why not have a simple fade from black and fade out to black transition.... he wished there was one as well. I dont get it and I am just not video savvy enough to make one.

  • If you like you can hit me up here DM and I make you a quick video how to make the fade in in LUMA and send it via email or so. Its not that hard but a bunch bunch of clicks

I automate the Opacity level for fades in Lumafusion, or maybe I am misunderstanding the question?

This is like 10 clicks to ge the job done. I want an app with two taps „Fade-in“ & „fade-out“ zupp save, done.

Maybe you have a different approach? I will gladly listen to you to find a faster and more convenient Solution

  • I see your point, your use case is that the only editing you want to do is the fade in and out

I tend to be doing other edits, minimum a syncing of audio and video...so a few extra clicks in the Opacity layer to achieve a customised fade makes sense for my purposes

  • @drewinnit is there not such a thing as a transition that you can just slap on front or back of video to have a fade? I searched and to my surprise could not find one. Maybe did not search for right terms. I just want something that is already made and I can just slap it on and be done.

I just add a cross dissolve to before or after the video, then drag it to the length I need. It cross-dissolves from or to black.

Easy, unless I'm somehow misunderstanding what you're trying to do.

I will try that. Thanks @wim

I do the the same thing. It does just what OP seems to want. People might not realize that starting with cross-dissolve is the same as fade in or that ending with one is same as fade to black. If multiple tracks are happening, you have to add them to each one. But that takes only a few seconds.

  • @wim. I’m an idiot. That works perfectly. Jeez. I should go stick my head in the sand.

If you do, please get someone to post a video of it.

Yes. Then I can do a nice cross dissolve on it. 😂😂

  • Hey @onerez can you see me? I am sticking my frigging head in the sand in shame right next to you... luma fusion is always surprising me again and again ahaha...

Do you know these videos they post on twitter from time to time where the real cracks are doing dope stuff I would never thought that is possible with it!? Its crazy powerful but now I know it can do fade to black also :)
