OT: Logic Pro updated to 10.6
I bought Ableton 10 yesterday with the promise of MPE for version 11 and what happens today? Logic Pro gets updated to two very important features for me:
Novation Launchpad full support.
Control of step sequencer with logic remote
Comments
MainStage and GarageBand got an update too and finally iOS GB sound packs are in sync with Logic.
I'm going to have a look a Mainstage today. Curious about what it will bring.
The step sequencer is amazing. when it first came out for Garage Band I thought it had everything I wanted. Then it came to Logic and now I have it my iPad, so I can sequence Madrona Labs Aalto or the amazing Alchemy...
One could hope and dream that the future for logic with iOS additions would mean a two way street for logic and iOS. You can only shoot projects to logic from iOS full edit but not backwards you only get a single sound file or stem. As of now that’s the only way to start a project on logic and work on it in iOS.
sound presets only go one way. Would be awesome if they opened it up to where if it’s the same instrument the sound presets can transfer to each device giving you full sound capabilities kind of like korg apps to gadget.
The structure is there
Only thing I wish I could do is make my own drum kits in GB with it.
I do wonder if the QuickSampler will ever get the option to change the bit-depth for the recordings made with it...
...it always records in 44.1k 16-bit AIFF. It can load other formats but it's kinda strange it doesn't respect the project settings for new recordings. I have reported this to Apple (when 10.5 dropped) but apparently it's not something they feel is important to fix since it was not fixed on 10.5.1 and still remains unfixed in 10.6...
So when Logic Pro 'Goes to 11' it better be fixed
